Hi, guys. A formal hello to one and all.

I've been interested in wargaming for most of my life now and, unlike ali657 (great paint job by the way, ali), have even played some games!
So, as a Pendraken minis owner/fan for many a year, I decided to take the plunge and join the forum. Did I do good or should I be saying, "God help me"?
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

By the way do Pendraken do Hussite war wagons?
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

The forum is both supportive of and detrimental to your sanity. When I first joined I was shy and innocent, barely strung a word together - daintily dipping a trembling toe into the brave new pond of an e-forum. Now, I am still shy and innocent, but jump in with both feet and damn the torpedoes.

If you have any ego about your crafting abilities, prepare to have it taken out back by some burly realities and kicked senseless with the bovver boot of other people's photographs. It is quite surprising how few of the parents of these highly skilled and talented people ever bothered to have their union acknowledged in a formal civic or religious setting.  

You may also find yourself seduced by the forum.  There is a quite astonishing degree of creativity and innovation displayed by the aforesaid highly skilled and talented people, who almost uniformly have an interest in insects with piercing mouth parts - "bugs" if you will.

Then there are the very few, who demonstrate skill, talent, creativity and innovation and have a flair for communicating in their own blogs or some other witty, erudite and thought provoking manner. It is to be recorded that a significantly high proportion of these admirable chaps go without facial hair, because were they to grow a beard, moustache or even a goatee, they would resemble nothing so much as - and I may be indelicate here - the source of us all, a lady garden, a front bottom.

Whilst reading through the posts on the forum, I often acclaim the forum members by crying out aloud these bon mot in recognition of the qualities that I myself may be lacking, but that others (and they know who they are) display in almost over exuberant display in the pages of this forum.
