They're nice little sculpts - quite animated but not caricatured. The officer is especially good, I don't think his rather fetching moustache comes out well on those shots! Also, I do need better camera skills, they're rather blown up - they look rather better when not in 28mm size shots :D

And very nice they are too!

Nathan has done a lovely paint job on them

I'm just waiting for my package from Pendraken which amongst other things has the mdf bases for them

Painted up some "giants", all of 20mm - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1480253388891127.1073741847.1375731686009965&type=1

More Airfix, and more "classic" than "crisp" but nice nostalgia value!

Up on evilBay ATM but if they don't go I might add some Huns and see about some skirmish games!

fred.

Nice painting - much better than those figures deserve!!

I'd forgotten just how horrible the early Airfix support weapons were - perhaps because they never went together and just got lost

Do you find a good market for painted 20mm plastics? I sold a good few sets a number of years ago, none painted particularly well and was surprised at how much some sold for (IIRC £20+)

The support weapons are awful! You wouldn't believe the amount glue sweat and tears went into those... Once painted up & based the figures are a fair bit better than the sculpts suggest. Although I had to pain on detail that just wasn't there on some and I won't mention the flash on others!

20mm plastics - Nappies & WW1 don't seem popular (I thought with the centenary WW1 might be...), but WW2 tends to go quickly. Guns ok, infantry of major nations or exciting units goes well - none of mines gone for silly prices but it's often Comfortable! I've seen some go for ludicrous money - about a dozen Airfix Aussies painted for the western desert for nearly forty quid!

But about a pound a figure isn't unlikely, with all the usual caveats - some one had to want them, there needs to be interest, get the Liston right etc etc.

Been a little quiet on the posting piccies front but I have been doing lots. Not a lot of Pendraken I'm afraid, even if there's been plenty of 10mm (so many Crimean Russians I see them in my sleep :D), but here's the first of a few 'Drakens - they're actually auxiliaries for my (totally not the Teutonic Knights) Dwarven Runic Order (Bear-Knights from Magister Militum, mostly).

Edit - hmm, meant to drop a preview/image there. The phone is a blunt implement...

I got a bit over eager in the photo department as the base is still drying! Was original going  for 15 figures per base, then realised tht looked less "Orc warband" and more "Orc pike block crammed into tiny space" - so now I have four units for the price of two ;)

Cheers all!

And now a centre piece unit - the Dwarf Rune-Priest with retinue. Cleric in with some hard as nails heavy foot, based for Impetus Fantasy. There's more, which I'll post some point but they're mainly Magister Militum or Copplestones so shan't hijack the Pendraken boards too badly ;)

Authors own collection, we're doing a sort of Northern Crusades-ish Fantasy set up, so I've the Runic Dwarven Order with Crusader mercenaries and Orc subject Auxillia, and we've an Elven Rus/Steppe nomad conquest faction and a full on Prussian pagan Orc faction with orcs, trolls and goblins etc. And likely a remnant Viking winter undead in the works, a Goblin Khanate and possibly Polish themed fantasy actual flying winged hussars and maybe a morphed from my Ottomans Turkish if we wander to the south!

Anyway -

Ta!

I should add he's a very meaty figure, even more so than the other already very meaty Dwarves - hence no mixing of manufacturers on the same base - the MM dwarves are a bit teeny & slight in comparison...
