Needed a break for WW1 so went looking in my spares box for some 1/600th airplanes for Vietnam.  Decided to try and paint up all 37 US Navy F-4 MiG Killers.

The letters and numbers have been designed but haven't made a start on the tail codes and tail and fuselage artwork yet.  More to follow, until I get distracted again by something else

Very nice indeed.  Far far better than my 1/600 efforts.

Lovely stuff :) What about the opposition?

Loads of opposition done -17, -19 & -21s plus SA-2 and AAA

As I play downtown using the solo rules to play the US side in a coop manner I know where all my airframes are hence they get all the attention. Most of my DRV aircraft are markers and only when us get a visual do one of the "proper" appear on the table.

This is all 36 aircraft which will gave a gull tray scheme and "interesting" tail art. I miscalculated and don't have enough J models so the older VF-96 aircraft will gave to stay for a while

They're gonna look mighty impressive on the table :)

Downtown looked interesting (as does the Battle of Britain one) but I just don't have time or space for big games like that anymore, sadly!

LOL, you only get 6 F-4s per Alpha strike so you would have to be playing one of the really large scenarios to have all these on the table.  They are more a whim than anything just to see what I could do rather than need to do.  If it was need, I had the VF-92 and VF-96 aircraft already done and I was happy to proxy them in.  After these I am going back to the WW1 stuff and then back to aircraft to get the attack aircraft done to the same scheme (VJ Deck Tan)

Excellent work Si. I'm not sure my eyes would be able to see well enough now to paint that level of detail :(.

This post seems to have a bug. It keeps registering as unread.

Beautiful, Si. I have enough trouble with 1/300th, let alone those little devils.  :(
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.
