This week, I shall be mostly painting my Beastman (Beastmen?) army for Warmaster...

Having not picked up a (modelling) paintbrush in anger since February, I painted a load of 6mm sci-fi stuff at the weekend & have rediscovered a bit of my mojo. So, having braved mountains of boxes, I've located the Beastman army that got assembled & undercoated in January and have decided that they will get done - this week. Rationale behind that is that the 3/5 of the Harwood household that are of the female persuasion are away from this afternoon with Pony Club Camp - and I'm not working after today - so it's Isaac and I rattling around the place.

I've got a long list of work that I could / should be doing on the house - and some of that will happen - but I'm determined to get these done. And then move on to my 1809 Naps that were undercoated an even longer time ago.

Pics will follow in due course (just not this week as I go because I don't have internet access at home etc etc yawn shudder)

Sometimes I wonder - why is that frisbee geting bigger - and then it hits me!

I don't think it will take you long to get back into painting.  Anyway looking forward to seeing some pictures.

Take care

Resupply of static grass & spray matt varnish has landed, so hoping to get these finished this weekend  :)

Quick update - these are all done, final pics taken - will edit & upload at some point this week (just not today as I'm grabbing an internet signal to this Macbook from my phone & it's not going to cope with pics...)

Giving this a go - uploading ridiculously shrunken pics pics on a connection that I really don't trust (and which is slower than a slow thing going really slowly in the slow lane)...

Overbrush:

Second overbrush - at this point I was going to go with black wolves...later changed my mind...

Base colours:

Brushed-on stain 'dip':

I was unhappy with the wolves - so repainted them...
Finished - with static grass, base edges done & matt varnished (more pics here: http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,10486.0.html):

Lovely stuff Nik!

Think I might go with black wolves for my next unit of them - looked quite effective to me.

Thanks, chaps  :)

The black wolves looked absolutely fine - but they just jarred a bit with the overall look & 'feel' of this army once they were all together: with lots of earthy browns and neutral tones, it just seemed to me that they ought to tie in really simply with the majority...hence the (fast) repaint.

Of course, if (when) I get round to doing Vampire Counts...  ;)

Very nice - how long did that take you? Less time than getting the pictures to the web, given your comment on connections, I'll bet...

;D Yep - I reckon you're right...

Not sure - did them in a few brief sessions over a couple of days: probably 4 hours or so - then about 45 mins to finish the bases once resupplies of static grass had landed; something like that.

Of course, I seriously cheated with these; fast drybrushing, limited palette and Wilko's woodstain... 8)
