Underwhelmed is an understatement =)

Good to see Clara though :x

The Beeb must be really worried about ratings if they are having to wheel the Daleks out in Episode 2
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

It was  Ok ish...It was the first one, they are usually a bit poor, though all the way through I wondered why I kept hearing snippets of " Lets go fly a kite", maybe it was something to do with the lady at the end with the umbrella. Not sure who she was and if she had been in it before.

I suppose the comedy trio were in for a bit of continuity, glad to see the back of Matt Smith though
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

I quite liked it.

Clara always helps  :x

I felt the same about Tennant. Too shouty.  >:(

Still an Eccleston fan (of the new era) and enjoyed Smith's portrayal even if it was aimed at a younger audience. Suits my mental age... ;D

Yes, he has still been the best of the new era

Ecclestone was too much an action hero hard man, for my taste, as Dr Who.

Matt Smith's Doctor reminded me of Tom Baker's version - my favourite of the original run.

David Tennant has been my favourite of the new run so far but after tonight I have hopes of Peter Capaldi.

The introductory/ regeneration episodes seem to me to be the weakest of the episodes for each Doctor of the new run.

Overall I enjoyed it and look forward to next week and the perennial Dalek episode.

For sure Jenna-Louise Coleman and Catrin Stewart add to the watchability :)

I have a feeling that Peter Capaldi will turn out like more like Eccleston, quite dark and serious. And the episode following a regeneration always has him acting a bit strange - I remember feeling WTF when Patrick Troughton first appeared and started playing a flute, but he still turned out to be a tough cookie. Yes, lets get the Daleks out of the way so we can move on to something different. And suddenly Clara is looking all grown up - I'll be in my bunk - to mix my SF metaphors.

I'm sure at one early point he shouted at the dinosaur "Haw, big man, shut it!"  ;D

He is probably the most Scottish Doctor yet, out of a pretty good selection, so he gets my vote!  :D

Took a while to get going, but we enjoyed it in the end. Like the references to the Scottish referendum as well, plus previous Doctors etc. I like Peter Capaldi as an actor, so looking forward to seeing how his character will develop. The current Radio Times has a guide to all the episodes, which helps makes sense of the 'Heaven' bit at the end.

Techno

I really rather enjoyed it. I've got quite high hopes for Mr Capaldi too.
What got me, was that I misheard the starting time as 7:15 instead of 7:50, so I rushed in a few minutes before a quarter past seven......What on EARTH is 'Tumble' supposed to be ? =O =O =O =O
I went back outside for half an hour an helped Mrs T with the gee-gees......Dearie, dearie me !
Cheers - Phil.

I also caught the last four minutes of Tumble. Is this TV for the lobotomised?

Tumble - having only seen the trailers. I assume is an excuse to make celebrities look stupid and fall over a lot while trying to do gymnastics!

They're running out of things to get celeb to do. My guess will be that the next will be celeb assassins. "this week Kerry Katona is going to attempt to take out a high ranking minister with just one pound of C4, and will Kevin Pederson allow for windage in his third attempt on the scientist?"

Actually ... I'd watch that.

I had high hopes that Clara was going to be the Dr. Female Dr Who. Might be a bit different.
