I got these miniatures from a well-known figure painter, who no longer had the time to paint them, so he kindly let me have the metal sculpts to have a play around with, and see how well I could paint them. Well, they're better than I've managed previously, but I know that a lot can paint better. Anyway, the pictures ...

Thanks for looking  :)

Well I think you have done a lovely job there - congratulations   :D :-bd :-bd

fred.

That's some very nice painting and basing to show off the figures.

Though I do have to say I really dislike the big black plinth like edges of the plastic bases. I'm not that keen on these bases on 28mm figures, let alone on 10s.

Very nice!

Unlike fred I like the effect of the bases.

Can't please all of the people all of the time :-)

Agree with Fred on the bases, but it is a matter of personal taste

Certainly no need to apologise for those.

If they're 10mm then you've probably got yourself a new career.  :-bd

Thank you, everyone.

Just realised that the bodhran drummer is actually the older image, and the black line running up his back was an error that has since been rectified.

As to the bases ~ Simply a case of some 20mm slotta bases I had kicking around spare, and since the figures are individual, and I was trying painting methods, they got used. I wouldn't normally use them, but hey ho ...

I've another standard bearer to do and then two cavalry figures, which I'll update this thread when they're done.

Thank you all, again.   :)

Very nice work, really like the standard bearer. Is the swan cast on the model or did you paint it freehand?
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Roy

Thanks.
