Can anyone tell me the assembled length of the new Napoleonic limbers please? Just need to know how long a base I need for the little chaps.

What Nationality as there is often a difference.
If it's British or Prussian then you have to bear in mind that the only suitable materials are either steel or plastic as card or MDF have a finite life of only a few years. Cutting them now will probably mean that they will crumble to dust by the time you get the models.

I have card and epoxy bases that have been in service over thirty years, and I think they'll outlive me. They've seen action on four continents, at that.

Won't that depend on how many horses you have in the team?
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

The limbers are around 25-30mm off the top of my head, then you'd have two pairs of horses as well.  So probably something between a 60x20mm and a 80x30mm base, depending how much space you want around them?

I've got stuff here which has been based on MDF for about 7 years and it's still as straight and flat as it was when it was cut?  Strangely I've got some Nap display figures on plasticard which has warped badly.
