Is there any point in trying to show the webbing on the Viet Nam Yanks?

I've done the uniforms olive green, with the straps olive gray. On 25mm Naps I've done black then painted the white over to give the edges, but it seems excessive in Modern 10mm.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

In 15 mm I painted Russian Green, then sepia washed, then highlighted Grey-Green. Ish...

Frankly, if you're happy with the result you're getting then that's all that matters, in my opinion.

If you're not happy with the results I suspect you may get a raft of alternative methods here.

Gotta love this forum.

If it's just a matter of toning down, a sepia wash would probably do the trick.
