anyone have any advice or tips on how to change flag poles on 10mm figures

any help appreciated

Steve J

First thoughts are:

- A lot depends upon how the figure is holding the flag pole. If it's close to the chest you have a lot more leeway than if it held off in space as it were. The reason being that when drilling the hole to accept a new flagpole, you have to be a lot more accurate on poles away from the body so as not to ruin the hands by drilling off centre.
- Decide upon the new flagpole rod diameter.
- Drill a hole about 0.10mm larger than the new flagpole. This give you a bit of room to fit the flagpole and then add the superglue.
- Make sure you have a good pin vice and drill bit as this makes drilling the new hole a heck of a lot easier.
- If possible mark a hole start with a pin or something to help locate the drill bit to prevent it sliding off.
- Be patient!!!

Hope this helps?

I think Steve's just about covered that.  :)
Same technique would apply to replacing a spear/javelin.....Though (...and I'm guessing) I think most of those would be at least a little away from the main body of the model.
Some 'chuckers'/throwers might prove a tad difficult.
Cheers - Phil.

My only addition to the above is that if you do, by chance, ruin the gripping hand(s) they can be repaired with Greenstuff and some care.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.
