Squogglers - here: http://www.pendraken.co.uk/DN61-p6383/

The only non-Pendraken figure is the giant (plastic zombie from Warhammer Quest I think)

Great idea to use a 28mm figure for the Giant 8).

Another fine looking army from Nik, and one of my favourites for WM, I might just have to get some of those Squogglers for my Orcy horde.

I had shied away from orcs and goblinz for warmaster but these guys might just convince me otberwise :)

Great work and style, the army is really cohesive, how do you differentiate between orcs and goblins?

Would be nice if Pendraken would release some smaller sized goblinoids that could be clearly used as warmaster goblin hordes - and some tougher/taller/heavily armored orcs to use as Black Orcs.

I could be very wrong since I have only bought orcs from pendraken: is it fair to say pendraken goblins are thinner but taller?
I wonder if the goblin figures what Kallistra labels as "mountain orcs"?

If someone can shed some light I can then update my warmaster mapping below to include pendraken codes as well (scroll down to the large 10mm section):

http://www.athens-fantasy.gr/2013/07/orcs-goblins-warmaster-with-non-gw-miniatures/

basically I am looking for the best candidates for goblins vs orcs vs black orcs in the pendraken line.

I'm sure Leon can confirm this, but I believe that the Kallistra Orcs are the same as the Pendraken Goblins, but cast in strips, whilst the Kallistra Mountain Orcs are the 15mm Goblins formerly produced by Pendraken, but now produced by Minibits.

The Pendraken Orcs are only produced by Pendraken and ARE shorter and squatter than the goblins.

The Minibits 15mm Goblins make great Black Orc/Giant Goblins to go with the Pendraken ones.

Hope this is some help, cheers!

Thanks - I'm not differentiating here - just Gobbos for me in this one (using the Experimental list from Warmaster Armies  8))

Yes to the Pendraken Goblins / Kallistra Orcs being the same figures, and the Pendraken Orcs are slightly smaller I think, but a lot heftier.

I'm not sure on the Kallistra Mountain Orcs though, I don't think I've ever seen those?

On holiday with only my phone and a dodgy signal so it's a bit tricky to hop between sites to compare pictures, but I thought the chap on the front left with his axe raised was on of yours. The one in banded armour with the cleaver/sword on the front and rear right also looks familiar.  :-\

Cheers!

So long since I played. Is Warhamster played on 25 x 50s these days?

Nope - Warmaster is still usually 40x20 but I used 50x25 to give a bit more room for the figures, plus I had a load, plus I'm doing at least two armies and I mostly play solo so it's not an issue for me  :)

Ok - I'll put you out of your misery  ;) :)

Everything Vallejo...

Bases: Beasty Brown => Leather Brown => Plague Brown
Overbrush everything: Beasty Brown

Squigs: Scar Red => Blood Red => Fiery Orange; Spines / Fangs: Bone White

Trolls: Flesh: Leather Brown => Bone White; Clubs: Plague Brown; Metal: Shining Gold, Mithril Silver

Wolves: Leather Brown => Plague Brown => Bone White

Goblins: Flesh: Fieldgrau => Camo Green; Cloth: Cold Grey, Plague Brown; Wood: Plague Brown; Metal: Shining Gold, Mithril Silver

Then...ta daa (I cheated - mostly because these nasty little green feckers have been taunting me to paint them for a year now....b@$tards!):

Wilko's 5 Year Woodstain: Rustic Oak (Satin) - brushed on to everything (undiluted)

Bases: superglued static grass, drybrush Bone White & then Plague Brown; base edges: Flat Earth
Spray varnish: Army Painter Matt

Done - simples  8)

Ta for that

I have used B&G  stain varnish on 10mm before...maybe the wilko stuff is thinner but the B&Q stuff comes out quite gloopy on 10mm

Have now managed to finally post this on the right thread...not sure what gloopy stain and top totty have in common...oh wait  :-[

It is quite gloopy, but if you brush it on carefully, it's fine  :)
