Lazy & Tight :o

Guilty as charged ;)

Why waste energy fumbling through my pockets for the price of a beer when there is some soft smack/Southerner/Lancastrian/friend queuing up to buy one for me :D 8) :D

Maybe sympathy, maybe just to shut me up - either way I didn't pay/exert un-necessary energy 8)

My mate, who moved to Leeds from Essex always defined a Yorkshireman as "a Scotsman stripped of his generosity".  ;D

It's a mistake to think that the Wars of the Roses ended in 1485. What's five hundred years between enemies?  :D

Er, slightly dubious, ML. Henry's claim to the throne rested on his descent from John of Gaunt, father of Henry Bolingbroke, the Lancastrian usurper. It was a pretty tenuous claim however you look at it, although he was of Welsh royal blood.

And even that claim was spurious, that's why he married Elizabeth of York, so he could claim the crown by marriage!  ;)
