This afternoon I ploughed through a 1000 points a side FoG 100Years War which the English narrowly won without the use of any stakes. Not much fun playing solo, but still the first game of the year safely tucked under the belt ;)
Is FOG fun when not played Solo? ;)
At least you got a game in though
A couple of introductory games of BCKII with one of the guys at the club. Got soundly beat but still had fun with Soviets vs Finns :).
Probably a solo game of some rules I'm working on. The wife will be out of town in a couple of weeks so I'll have some free time. It's either test the rules or paint AWI.
Probably be a large Pirate game which was postponed from December due to the poor weather.

aka Bilbo
Some form of role play game but not sure what. We might be flying our fighters back into to China, or possibly a hunting game
Probably a Warmaster - 1000 point multi-player.

Greetings
First RPG was on New Years Day run by my son (and the second was last night ...). The first real wargame is tba but may be this coming weekend, even if it ends up being solo.
Regards
Edward
Its looking like Black Powder AWI, but still to be decided...
I've got a game organised for our club night on Sat, BKC, my Brits vs Italians in the desert. Looking forward to it as I've never played against the Italiens much and actually not used my 8th Army figs much either.
I'm itching to have a game of Die Kriegskunst with my SYW Prussians and Austrians though, but this would have to be a solo affair. I think th epressure might get to me before Sat and I'll break....must play now!

Go on! You know you want to! Submit yourself to the Gods of the Dice :D
Possibly 10mm Franco-Prussian, using either Black Powder or Volley & Bayonet (depends on how many of the lads can make it)...
Had holiday until yesterday, so this year we already played a series of cool Flying Lead Sci Fi skirmishes in an ongoing campaign between the evil Spugs and the brave Shocktroopers defending their forts. Today I start working again (as you can see :P) so the gaming frequency will once again diminish :'(
Well I dont know if it qualifies as a "wargame" but it was pretty bloody! My son and I played Blood Bowl and his team won and punched my team around the pitch :'(

Oh bugger - that means that since 1980 or so I've only played about half a dozen wargames :o ;D
I wasn't gonna mention it, but if you bring it up yourself... ;D
:P :)
1st "war" game of 2011 -- ZOMBIES :D :D
A buddy ran a cool Zombie board game where each player had to defend your house from the zombie hordes, my house didn't last very long. :o
But next week is CD Test of Battle, so that is the "official" 1st wargame of 2011.
I love zombie games! Is the one you played the Zombie game with the square maps you create as you go along and heaps of off-white little plastic zombie figs?
First game of 2011 was a "VBCW 1938",great fun.
Now i need to order about 20 pack of SCW figs to make up some more units?

Looks like it will be WSS with BP, and Pendraken. Hopefully I'll have 1, maybe 2 units of horse painted by Tuesday, but no chance on the 5 battalions of foot that arrived this morning.
1st game of 2011 was VBCW using BKC.
The idea was that the BUF and TA were trying to prevent an Anglican column moving to support their comrades on the Surrey/Sussex border. With the local anarchists pitching in to kill some fascists. The main body of Anglicans made it but carelessly lost their armoured car and scout car to the TA.
We find this works well in 10mm as we can get 4 players around a small table in my front room. This gives us a relatively big game lasting about 4 hours plus beer, wine and snacks 8)
(the pic is from a previous game)
first game of the year... the one above :D
Long live the god bothers...down with Mosley and Edward!
Played Warmaster Fantasy last night. Using Lord of the Rings based lists, I had a Lorien Elf list with lots of archersand some ultra tough 1st age Knights vs a Sauron list with hordes of weak Orcs and quite a lot of Uruk Hai and Trolls. Despite some early inactivity on my part due to multiple failed command rolls from high command value commanders I ended up totally destroying the evil forces without loosing a unit!

Nope, each person had a house and had to defend it. I have played the zombie game you are talking about and it is much more fun.
Thursday last - used my Turks, in a 7 Player fantasy/historical Warmaster. Fun for me, but the Sassinids I was facing got a bit miffed, with rare wooden stakes across me front.
My first game of 2011 will be a quasi historical pre-ECW mid-sized encounter - King`s Men versus a raiding Marcher Lord`s band of cutthroats and desperados.
Yummy... muskets and cannon against bows and swords :-\
Sounds like some great games going on out there already - or planned...So, how come none of you have written a batrep for our nice section here then, eh??! :d
I've been too busy with work [& trying to secure my own future] & clearing / painting the house to get round to bunging dice - but might just drag out a small game over the weekend...possibly some Pulp dungeoneering or a small BKC scrap.
As Last Hussar predicted it was a Black Powder WSS game on Tuesday.
A fun game, even though most of the infantry on both sides just stood out of range and glared at each other.
The terrain meant that there was a narrow gap between a row of hills and an extensive wooded area in the middle of the table. The Imperialists and Prussians manouvered themselves to set up a crossfire on the leading French units to pass through the gap. Thinking this looked like suicide the French attempted to outflank the Allies by sending 3 battalions through the woods, but they seemed to get lost amongst the trees.
On the far flank the Prussians cavalry's charge failed to break the French cavalry. In return the French advanced, assisted by some battalions of infantry. Faced with a wall of bayonets and outflanking horse, the Allied cavalry kept retiring out of musket range, pursued by the French.
Eventually the Allied cavalry were destroyed, 2 units lost and the last unit on the table shaken) for the loss of a French infantry battalion.
The French cavalry were now in a position to sweep around the Allies flank. But as it was getting late (and more importantly we had drunk all the beer) we decided it was nightfall and both armies would withdraw from the field, honour satisfied.
Sounds great SJ...you know what I'm going to ask now, though, eh? Got any pics? We like pics 8)
Yey actually played tonight :D Role play rather than wargame.... Pirates... my character is a lapsed monk with an eye for the ladies. He has left the monastary to seek a life of excitement and ladies. Unfortunately the last lady he got friendly with happened to be a nun, the sister of a certain religious figure, who just happens to be in the Spanish inquisition...whoops, obviously the cathoilc church isnt best pleased about it either... So Port Royal here I come, well apart fro a slight detour when we were attacked by some sort of phantom ship with scary things on it. Luckily I remembered to bring the holy water and managed to drop three of them before the ship was overun and we managed to make it to the lifeboat, well three of us out of twelve made it to the lifeboat....
Mine is slated for tonight, Future War Commander, Kraytonians v Andryadans, never played with the Andys before and I think my mate Dave has played his scaly gits only once before, there might be a lot of looking up rules.
Gordon
Small Naopleonic naval action. 1 x 1st rate and 2 x 3rd rates per side, Spanish (me) vs French. Now only have Santissima Trinidad left, but I will go down fighting (as usual!),
Chad
Have now played 2 games of FOW 15mm, FPW 10mm game got cancelled after my opponets car died :( Re schedule for March (Feb is already booked)
