These are the complexions one finds in the armies of Jugurtha, Micipsa, Massinissa, and indeed Hannibal and Scipio.
I hadn't realised they contained such a high proportion of women!
Your point. ;D
Anyone else see a resemblance to a famous English footy player in one of those images ? :-\

.... er .... ok .... which one is Bobby Charlton?
(is it the baldy one without the comb over?)
It's the bloke in the fourth row down...and third from the left, that reminded me of someone, Davy
(Now......The more I look at it, the less the photo looks like him !! ;D ;D ;D)

It's a handy resource, many thanks.
Bear in mind there's been a coupe of millennia of migration featuring more Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Arab Conquest, Barbary Corsairs, Ottomans, Spanish, Portuguese, French - and probably more.
Anybody claiming that your colours are wrong is going to have a had time proving it.

So was I, but I went for a cheap laugh instead!
Alexander's Greeks described the Indians as "light skinned like Egyptians."
Populations have changed. Go figure.
I'm having lunch with a Hindu friend today. She's as light-skinned as I am.

It also works the other way, since we don't know where the Greeks drew the line between light and dark skinned.
A Greek trader who conducted commerce with a hellenised Egyptian ruling class would encounter people who looks quite like him.
The fellahein of the upper Nile valley would have far darker skin, but still light skinned compared to the Nubians.
Forgive my musings, I started this hobby when paint suppliers provided a single skin tone called "Flesh".
What I now have to buy as "light orange" (which it certainly isn't).

Same here, Airfix M7. Even at the time I thought it looked nothing like any flesh colour I'd seen in real life. Every colour called "Flesh" - and I assume they're going for Northern European as the base here - has generally looked far too pink to my eyes.
