(new Bavarian Corps)

Hi Folks, Here is a AAR of our latest bash using the Blucher Ruleset. In this game i managed to give my new Bavarian Corps a run out and they preformed very well on their debut. As normal you can find the report/pictures on my blogg at the following link if you fancy checking it out:

Heres a couple of pictures of the game in action:

Your Napoleonic games do look good, Slim. I recall your Black Powder AARs but see you are now fully committed to Blucher (particularly the basing conventions). Regarding the Blucher rules, what is it you like the most? Also, I wondered what the square markers (with infantry pictures?)for (see blog photos 11, 12, 14 & 15)?

The markers say 'prepared'

from the blucher review on this blog:    https://nickthelemming.wordpress.com/2015/02/08/bluecher-a-review/

"The other markers required are Prepared tokens (for when an infantry unit has readied its defences in anticipation of receiving a charge), objective markers (which could be anything from a small tableau to a counter bearing the word ‘objective’), and possibly some markers for entrenched units (though these are likely to be rare unless one has a Spanish army). The usual accoutrements for wargaming are also required – some form of measuring device, a handful of six sided dice and a handkerchief to wipe away your tears as my army destroys you utterly – and a small dice cup or similar is needed for your opponent’s MO dice."

Handkerchiefs can be bought quite cheap from what i recall :P

Yep we r now fully committed to Blucher, even one of our going friends is rebasing his vast (and I mean vast!)m6mm napolionic armies to use for Blucher. The markers are to show your infantry units are preferred. This means you cannot suffer any penalties for been hit in the flank or rear if charged. More importantly it means any enemy cavalry that charge you while oreparEd have to re roll all successful attacks against you which can be very handy. However if you are caught unprepared by cavalry as I was in this game on a couple of occasions the infantry have to re roll all successful attacks. As for the rules I think what helps make the game is the movement/command phase. With your opponent rolling for your command points and you not knowing how many points you have to play with means you have to give real thought on what corps or single brigade moves you want to do as your movement activation is stopped when you reach that command roll.

Looking great!  I want to get a bushel of Pendraken Napoleonics, but do battalion basing (maybe 4 10-man stands each?).  But I'd never finish them...

Great looking game, glad to see someone getting them in.

Jack

Useful company. I wish they'd widen their range.
