Thought it wuz only FSN who got off on tanks. Also you will have the grammer kat after you...

The Comet's nice, but it's a bit tarty for me. Bit flighty.
Those softskins though will be very useful.
C'mon payday! - FSN
not more f****** vehicles. Bunch of frigging vehicle-o-sexuals. I mean lovely , great modelling , very historically accurate etc ;)
comets are a sign of the end times coming. You don't want to go making them, however well you do it

In order to maintain some degree of control I restrict my WW2 10mm to
Up to and including El Alamein in North Africa
Early war up to 1940 in the west
Up to batle for Moscow in the East
Possibly going to do Kalkin Gol in the Far East
However your comments made me have a further look and the link below suggests its started production in 1938!

So now I have no excuse, not to buy at least one of each. If Mrs Orcs finds out I am going to tell her its
all your fault :D
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!
As one of my bosses used to joke,"I blame you. I'm not saying it's your fault, just that I blame you." :)
Welcome to WWII. It's lovely in 10mm.
I've gone for Fall of France British/French/German, with the Germans hanging on to face the 1941 Russians. I've also got some "upgrades" i.e. replace A9/A10/Matilda I/2pdr with Crusader/Valentine/6pdr so I can fight in Italy, 1943 against the Italians, and whole new ballgame for NW Europe 1944 Brits, Yanks and Germans.
I'm looking to add Soviet 1944 and Japanese Khalkin Gol.
I've done this so I don't have to paint 25pdrs in desert and in European green. Everything is themed on a temperate summer, so basing, scenery etc can be universal.
Having said that, the Middle East building that I've just bought makes me hanker for Cauther camouflage. :(

If you find some suitable Japanese softskins from Pendraken, let me know.

From what I've read, the Japanese were perpetually short of motor transport and what they had was underpowered.
Like most armies of the period, infantry that were moved by truck would be dropped off away from the action.
Once in action artillery seems to have been largely static or else manhandled to new positions.
Not convinced you need much, if anything, by way of softskins for Nomonhan.

I agree with Ithoriel that you don't need much for Nomonhan/Khalkin Gol. Part of the problem for the Japanese that they were chronically short of transport. I'd just use generic trucks as press-ganged transport, ie Russian Zis 6 or 2.5 tonne, Citroen, Opel, Protz or Interwar 1920's/30's truck.
Alternatively, when you dirtied your hands with the T35s you could have ordered some Isuzu trucks ;D ;D.
My other go-to - Fairy Kikaku doesn't have any softskins and the trucks that come with Aoshima kits are out of scale (about 1/120)

I Love that Phrase ! ;D
Hi FSN
So far we have the following donations towards your burning - two faggots (of wood), a box of matches, 1 10p piece, a farthing and two washers.
But in the mean time look at the following from Fairy Kikaku. There are several trucks in these sets and some type 89 tanks that are suitable as well. Kits are 2000 yen which is about £10-12 generally for 4 vehicles. If you order two sets you are better off paying 2 lots of postage than the vat plus Post Office collection fee of £8.
BE WARNED
If you place two orders within a day or two they will automatically send them together causing you to pay the vat and PO fee. so wait until one is dispatched before placing the next.
Or to quote Grumpy You could "just dirty your hands" and order Izuzu trucks from that OTHER MANUFACTURER, after all we can only burn you once :D
Not that I would EVER suggest you doing this !!
Thank you both (I think).
I could order from another manufacturer, but really prefer not to. I was thinking of SCV1 "1920's-30's truck". Looks sufficiently rickety to fit in with the armour.
I dunno, you buy a dozen BT7's and hundreds of infantry from Pendraken and no-one remembers, but buy one (well 4) T35s from another place and they won't let you forget. Still, at least they're not mentioning Centurions. Hang on though, what's that bit from the Bible? "Romans go home"? No, that was "Life of Brian". "Do unto others, it's great fun"? No, that's the family motto. Oh! I remember:
"Let he who is without cyan, paint the first tone"!
Heretic - BURN HIM, BURN HIM, but not in Runcorn, toooooo explosive.

Told me mother about my impending immolation. Her comment, "make sure they put a bit of gunpowder around your neck, so you don't suffer too much."
:(
Having had a look at Japanese trucks they are very similar in style to the Russian Zis trucks, and as has been said you don't need that many, so I think that with a paint job conversion they would do.
As you have said before "you play with yourself " you are a solo wargamer. So there will be no rivet counters to say " That must be a Rusian ZIS truck because it has 4 nuts securing the road wheel "

Hmmm... I'm pretty sure we don't share the same mother but she does sound an awful lot like mine. My mother's advice to me would be not to leave any ash on the carpet, and that she thought I'd given up smoking....
Yes just go for any truck, or since you've already been sentenced to immolation you could use still another manufacturer that sells lots of trucks and staff cars. I hope you are going through your Russian figures and converting all the Ssh -39/40 helmets to M36 types for early war Russians :).
I've converted a 1920/30s truck with thin strips of flashing on the sides to look like a bus with windows. Like the Gaz below:-
(http://www.armchairgeneral.com/rkkaww2/galleries/buses/GAZ/GAZ_AAbasedbus1939.jpg)
If you use the Opel then you could use the WW2 seated Germans (with a helmet file job) or the WW1 Italian limber riders.
Cheers

(Disclaimer - Where Pendraken doesn't make a type of vehicle/figure, these have been known to spontaneously appear in my armies through no fault of mine)

How do you come to have a mother who knows things like that? :o
I think she was at some real burnings at the stake. She says she saw Techno at Cranmer's burning, remembers because he nearly fell in the pyre. :-\
Be fair.
That barrel of gunpowder was quite heavy....and I couldn't see where I was putting my feet.
Not surprising I nearly fell over.

Yeah, I couldn't get tickets >:(
