My 1941 Russian armour. I use a 1:1 ratio, so each tank represents - a tank.
On the left a company of BT7's. On the right a couple of recce units BA64s and T60s, and in the middle a mixed company of T28s and T35s. Yes, there should be another T35, but it broke down on the way to the start point. :(
I also seem to have an extra BT7. This means either a) I made 2 mistakes in ordering or b) non-Pendraken items morph into Pendraken ones if left unattended. Obviously b) is the correct solution. I may just use the extra BT as a command unit.
This is my first experiment in basing vehicles, and using static grass. Individual tanks are identified on the rear of the base using a series of coloured dots (e.g. 2 blue dots are 2nd tank of 3rd platoon.)
Still to go the AT, artillery and the infantry.
very impressive Mr Nobbs
I like the aged look you have acheived
Nicely done FSN. 8)
Great stuff, Nobby !

I was just saying, "I don't like it Carruthers. Its too quite out there."
Now I know why. You've been working hard! Good stuff, Nobby. :-bd

Those are BA10's. i'm sure you know that and it was just a typo ;)
Great job on the painting!
I love tanks representing ermmm... tanks :D
We're both wrong. They're BA6s. (SV67). ;)
I've got some BA10s on order.

Lovely - whose T35 are they?
Very nice

I'm torn. I still can't get my head around tufts of grass chasing tanks around a battlefield. :(
Think of them as a snapshot in time as the unit pauses.
Love 'em :-bd

They've just moved next to a similar tuft. Battlefields are covered with them :)
I find it enhances my suspension of disbelief but I can understand why it might reduce yours!
Getting there. Think I may need to add some static grass to some of the infantry / mortar / HMG

We have ...
Squadron of 10 BT7
Squadron of 10 T35 / T28
Company (2 platoons) of Mechanised Infantry
Recce of BA6, BA64, T60
3 Maxims, 3 50mm mortars, 3 45mm AT guns, 4 field guns.
But I've got the Soviet bug now, and I've got some 120mm mortars coming, as well as a KV1/2 squadron to give me some alternatives.
Thats a lot of stuff
Looking good FSN! :)
Be nice when it's painted.....
IanS ;)
Very nice indeed. I love the Russian the Russian army.

Well, as a solo gamer I always win.
Stick a 57mm gun on the back and those konsolmyets are a dangerous foe :D
Solo gaming at least guarantees you both an opponent AND a win ;)
Looks great!!!
Waiting for some PTRD AT rifles and 120mm mortars, for a bit of extra punch.
Even though I've now got the Middle East bug, I'm contemplating a 1944 Soviet force. T34's, SU76's, Gaz jeeps, maybe a Katusha or two.
And Cavalry. In blue trousers. I want to add cavalry to the 1941 ... including a couple of Tachanka ... and horse drawn artillery.
Do you think I could use late WWI French Cavalry as Polish 1939?
Franco Prussian Lancers and Uhlans too would work old chap.

Yes they'd be the closest in the Pendraken range but you could mix in some PP3 WW1 Polish in tzapka as either command figures, variations or because you like them better :D :-

The troopers in the top two pictures all seem to be riding greys. Is that a coincidence or is it a function of the photography?

Nice tanks FSN. Lovely T35 !!! ;D
I have a huge Polish army.
For Cavalry Pithead do them, but Bend Sinister do far nicer ones. THey also do basic infantry.
For engineers use Russiad flame thrower men.
The Helmets for WW2 Russian, Poles and Italians are based on the same orriginal helmet, so you can get away with a piant job conversion
I have used Russian flamethrowers for Polish Engineers and Russian A/Tank rifles for Italian ones.

No you mustn't...
Oh go on then but if anyone asks, I
tried to defend him.
Um ... well you see Pendraken don't do a T35, and I just absolutely had to have them, don't you see? All those turrets and the mechanical unreliability it was totally irresistible. The Dark Lord tempts you with the T28, but it's only half way there. You can't have a T28 without a T35, it's like having the left glove but not the right; like fielding League of Ausberg cavalry without the Incontinent Dragoons; like voting BNP (insert party of choice) without self loathing.
So I had two options. I did tentatively suggest a while ago that Pendraken produced a T35, but after my gentle urging for Centurions, I knew that I wasn't prepared for the emotional scars that the return joshing would bring.
I held on for as long as I could. I bought French, I bought Italian, I ran out of things to buy ... I tried everything I could to avoid buying non-Pendraken, but as time drew on, I kept going back to the Minifigs site. At first it was just to have a look, but as time went on, I visited the site more and more. At times, I went to the Minifigs site before I logged on to the Forum.
I was weak. I know that. I thought, perhaps just a couple or three and that would be it. Then I found that I needed four, so I did it again. I'm not proud of myself. I should have glued some extra turrets on a T26 and been grateful. But I didn't. I gave in to the temptation, and I'm sorry.
If you'll excuse me, I'll take this glass of whisky and this service revolver into the Techno's room. It's so covered in blood no-one will notice a little more.
I hope you'll find it in your hearts to think well of me.
Don't do that!
It's a waste of whisky. :D
Oooh! Oooh! I got a splinter!
Techno's room is dangerous!
Get the splinter out someone! It hurts! It hurttts!
OwOwoWoowwwooowww! :'(

Who could resist SV35 Commissar with megaphone...
A revolver is not suitable - You need the cleansing of the Flames.
Can we have a whip round for faggots (of wood) and some parafin? When we have enough money for them we can do a public burning.
Refreshments of Camomile tea and cucumber sandwiches will be provided during the burning for all spectators.
Afterwards we will auction off his valuables to provide for his daughter and ex wifes cat. :D

You find all sorts of interesting things you didn't know existed, had forgotten about, or are just intriguing.
I just found AC34 Tentacled Behemoth - thought that sounds interesting http://www.pendraken.co.uk/AC34-p5153/
And discovered it had 1 of my photos against it - so I already have this, tuck away some where...
