If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull... But that's not the worst of it. My headlights are out of focus, and it's especially hard to see things up close. My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather. My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.. But here's the worst of it. Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter, either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I think this applies to most of the Forum.
Speak for yourself will you, i'm still young-ish!
;D ;D
Well my doctor has just sent me off to the Physio for a bit of an MOT!

Shall i describe how it feels? You propably can't remember :P :P
Peter.....
My mind can remember perfectly how it was to be in my thirties.......(I still think that I'm in my mid-twenties.)
Sadly, my actual body has decided that this is NOT the case.....and seems to take a malicious pleasure in letting me know that fact, on an almost permanent basis. :'( :'( :'( :'(
Cheers - Phil. ;)
You know, as long as you have the right mindset, getting old doesn't matter that much...
not untill you ARE old that is .

So Peter you are not planning on ever commissioning any personal figures then ;)

So about that personal model...
I am growing old disgracefully. I have all my own teeth, only need glasses to reading and painting, only a little overweight (a stone or so), my ticker is fine -I had it checked recently, I have no major ailments apart from high blood pressure which is-controlled by a daily pill.
I know nobody asked but here it is anyway. My advice - for what its worth. Walk rather than drive wherever possible -I don't drive so that is not an option. I eat what I fancy but try to keep it as fresh as possible -especially meat and veg. I am lucky in that I live in a small town with almost a manana attitude so people mostly amble rather than rush which is actually contagious. Don't ever, ever worry about the things you have no control over -that way lies all sorts of medical problems. Smile and laugh more -people who walk around with faces as long as milk rounds (remember them?) need a jollification implant. Keep positive. There are other things nudge, nudge, but you never know who is reading this.
How old am I? The body is just the younger side of 60, the brain thinks it is substantially younger. Sometimes, according to Ma Subs, it's just managed to reach the dizzy heights of double figures. :)
