Napoleonic rules and 10mm flags - Peninsular

Hi everyone

I've just joined, so apologies if these questions have been raised / answered previously.

Please could anyone recommend any good 10mm Napoleonic Wargame rules which would suit the Pendraken Peninsular (and Napoleonic in general) Army Packs? I'm new to 10mm, and want to dip my toes into the waters ...

Also, do any of you know of so vendors / sources of ready made 10mm flags for the period? I know of Napflags / Warflag, but wanted to ask if members had come across sources of any other ready made Napoleonic / Peninsular flags in 10mm?

We're fans of Shako by Arty Conliffe - command driven, fast play but lots of nitty gritty. About the only set I'd be bothered with tbh. I'll play them and I don't even like Nappies

Three infantry bases to the unit (works fine, but can look a bit odd as a "three directional square" - about the only complaint with the rules!), pop as many actual figures on as you're comfortable with.

Any good rules would work with 10mm.  You may have to chose the level ( division game ? brigade game ?  ... )

Lasalle from Sam Mustafa are a good set and also give a helpful breakdown of how to build units for the Peninsular. Most units are four bases, but some larger ones (eg. British Guards) are six. These are division level rules.

Don't know about the rules but for flags I would recommend Vaubanner Graphics. All available flags can be resized to 10mm scale; servive and quality are top notch!

I like General de Brigade, 30 Figure Infantry Battalions are about right as well!
For larger actions I use either Polemos Marechal de Empire or March Attack from Crusader, both have good points to them.

I like the Polemos rules too, though I am using 6mm figures for Russian Campaign games so I may not be the best person to recommend them for what you're after Steve.

I agree with Toxic.  Shako does it for me, even if they're knocking on a bit now.

I like Black Powder. Emphasis is on control and command with mechanisms similar to Warmaster. Smallest tactical units are battalions, which are grouped into brigades for C&C purpose. Rules are flexible and non-complex. Written for 28mm but easily transposable to 10mm (convert distances to cm with added benefit of needing less space). There are expansions specific to Napoleonics but they are not really needed.

Another vote for Black Powder, a fun set of rules that easily would suit 10mm, I would recommend a 'normal' sized 6'×4' table though because the game is big on maneuvering!

For our H&M BP games we use cm not inches - gives you a huge table

If your looking at fighting big battles I would suggest Volley & Bayonet. Lets you play with multiple Corps per side in a reasonable time frame.  Or you can use one of the semi-official aternative scales for smaller battles.

I've been using Song of Drums and Shakos Large Battle but at the moment I'm switching to Napoleonic Principles of War basicly because I like more choice when making up an army list. I might actually just en up using the lists for NPoW and playing the games with SoD&SLB, who knows?

I think I may have played and enjoyed Shako in 25mm a few years ago, and have seen Black Powder played recently. I have played Warmaster a long time ago, so if this is similar ... I might look at that as a possibility. I know someone who has Lasalle, so I can borrow as copy of that as well...

Will have to get my thinking cap on (dusting off those little grey cells as the Belgian would say)
