Hopefully you'll get some good "in action" shots from Sandinista when they're all sorted - especially as his camera skills are better than mine!

And now, yet more piccies of guns. Guns, guns, GUNS!

The start of a few pics of finished guns.

And a little earlier heavy metal - https://www.facebook.com/jtppainting/photos/a.1510087222574410.1073741848.1375731686009965/1588132488103216/?type=3&theater

I'm trying to bang through a little of my lead mountain whilst I sort the LoA out, just a base here and there so I don't go cross eyed with Williamites ;) It's quite handy, as it focuses the mind on just getting them done! As otherwise with personal stuff I end up arguing myself into and out of colour and style and basing and... There's also a couple of pics of the pike I did previously. Sadly as I switched halfway through from deciding to use Pike & Shotte to using Impetus I've gone from 40mm bases to 80mm, thus meaning a quick, cheap and easy project has gone from 16 figures per pike block, to 64 figures per (at full, front rank plus three supporting depth)...

Bases need edging on all the Italian Wars stuff, just realised that's horribly obvious on the photo's :D

Surprising how easy it is to miss the edges ;)

I find it's all to easy to 'miss' something until you take a piccy. X_X

:D

There's always something, isn't there! Somehow you miss one guys face, or the sword hilts or the entire armies base edging :D

Having just seen your 1870 French I think you're a bit harsh there ;)

No, 64 man pike blocks are definitely the way to go, and having used Impetus for Italian Wars since the rules were first published I can heartily recommend them. Best Italian Wars rules i have ever used in the 40 years I've been playing that period.

I really like Impetus for pointy stick warfare of all kinds, right up to the Italian Wars which it does cover nicely - one of my groups does it in 15mm which is why I decided to "bath tub" it in 10mm, which off has ballooned out...

Btw what do you think about the dopplesoldners? They don't feel quite right as skirmishers who can get blown away on contact, and can wander off at will. We normally use them to screen their pike block but sometimes the temptation to go back down some artillery is very strong ;)
