On the figures, they are lovely. Some WW1 Russians grenade throwers have joined my WW2 Russian partisans and the Naval Brigade are padding out my "Black Death" Soviet sailors.

I was taught, somewhat belatedly, that a true gentleman never specifies the quantity of drink which he would like. That is up to the generosity of the giver.  So, do they do creme de menthe shandy by the thimbleful?

I've always understood that those concerned about what a true gentleman does or doesn't do are probably trying to persuade themselves that they qualify. A bit like the way that lesser aristocracy work hard on their manners, while the true grandee couldn't care less.

By "a true gentleman" I don't mean some inbred upper class twit who looks down on everyone else, and I couldn't give a ---- about what the "true grandee" thinks.  The secret is in the word "true".
