Hi all, let me first introduce myself.  My name is Seth Robinson, and my brother and I have been working on on a strategy board game for well over a year now, War of Kings.  It is a medieval strategy board game that includes both an economic and military aspect.  We finally brought our game to completion and are looking to Kickstarter to secure funding for the game's production.  We have always had a passion for miniatures, so we very much wanted to incorporate them into our game.  Unfortunately, the cost of including them in every single game box proved to be cost prohibitive.  We knew there were many people out there who shared our love for minis and wanted to provide an avenue for those hobbyists to do so.

We reached out to Leon from Pendraken, and asked him a lot of questions about getting an original line of miniatures created for our game.  He was extremely helpful and pointed us to Phil Lewis to create our minis.  An arrangement was also worked out to have Pendraken create all of the molds and cast our armies, so we knew they would be high quality.  Prior to launching our Kickstarter campaign, we commissioned Phil to create 3 unique minis for us, which can be seen below.  The response to our miniatures has been very positive, so we have asked Phil to begin working on 3 more sculpts.  As the demand increases, we hope to eventually create enough miniatures so that all 154 10mm minis that are included in our army packs are original War of Kings minis.

Leon invited me to share our project with you, so please stop by our Kickstarter page and check us out.  You can find it here: http://kck.st/1nBlTyw

We have also had the talents of Simon Summers working to sculpt the settlements and fortifications found within our base game.  I attached a picture of these below, as well.  Please let me know if anyone has questions.  We would love to hear what you have to say about our game  Thank you for your time, and cheers for now!

Well, if you're the one doing his sculpts, then yes...

Think I'm going to look into this - those towns are good!
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Hey Phil!  We didn't know we were working with a celebrity.  That's not the first time I've seen the reaction, "Phil Lewis?!?!"  :)  You have quite a following, it seems.  I'm glad you made it through all of that weather safely.

Dont encourage him  ;)
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Game looks great.

Particularly like that it takes up to six players - hard to find games for the group of six I play with every week.

Price for the game is good too, for what you get.

Alas, as with pretty much all American Kickstarters, by the time you add postage to the UK and import fees it's simply not worth it.

Best of luck with this. Looks good, hope you do well.

Thank you for the kind words, Ithoriel.  I'm glad you liked it.  I would like to mention that if you know of anyone else that might be interested, shipping becomes much more reasonable.  If we can ship several backers' games to the same address, then there is only the single $40 shipping charge.  I know this isn't the best, but just something to keep in mind if you know some other gamers that would be interested in joining with you.

In any case, thanks for taking the time to check it out!  :D

Looks a good system. I hope it comes to fruition.
Sometimes I wonder - why is that frisbee geting bigger - and then it hits me!

Yeah, by the time you add postage and import costs you're looking at paying about twice the price  :(

It's bizarre that I seem to be charged more than twice as much on postage from the US than I do on postage from China, which is twice as far away!

The people I know who might be interested in this are the other 5 I play with every week and if I get a copy why would they want one? So combining postage is a great idea and hats off to you for the idea but not going to help, sadly.

Experience suggests that if it's $89 in the US then by the time a distrubutorin the UK has it (I hope you're going to have a UK/ European distributor) it will likely cost around £89.

Basically, I live the wrong side of "the pond" :)

Hi everyone,

I had a fantastic time painting up all of the Pendraken miniatures for the prototype army pieces. I actually filmed it all and hope to be able to put together a short video on it. I am really looking forward to getting some casts of Phil's work to paint up.

I was interviewed on "Today in Board Games" (http://todayinboardgames.com/wir14)/) if you are interested where I got to talk about lots of different aspects of game play and development.

We'll share more greens and miniatures as this progresses!

Cheers,
Heath
