Rip roaring stuff :-bd

Well done the BBC for something original and well worth watching. Thought you were losing the plot when you axed Ripper Street
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

I missed the first one tonight, going to catch it on iPlayer instead.

I can't believe they dropped that, one of the best shows on TV recently.

Couldn't agree more  :(

Bit disappointed with it...Not sure about all the leather.Musketeers of Anarchy perhaps? As I mentioned elsewhere on another forum I have tendency to compare all Musketeer films and series with the Richard Lester.Scott McDonald Fraser ones which I have always loved
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Ithoriel

I liked it. Definitely swashed it's buckle!

I though the costume and set design was excellent. Shot in the Czech Republic in streets standing at the time the story is set iirc.

The Richard Lester version was trying too hard to be amusing for my taste.

I liked Porthos in this one, the actor reminds me of someone but I can't think who. I presume he's the son/ brother of somebody better known and when I find out who I'll no doubt go, "Oh! Of course!" :)

Too lazy to look him up right now on IMDB or similar.

Now, where has my copy of "En Garde" got to??!

WeeWars

It was a good first episode.
Banding together of the four, five if you count Constance, was strong and not contrived.
Good to see the bad characters fighting amongst themselves already.
Czech Republic is a bit too good for terrain inspiration.

It's amusing to go to costume dramas in Prague and note audience reactions when they're asked yet again to pretend that Karlovy Most in in Budapest or Vienna or London....
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

Visually very nice but I was rather disappointed with everything else. Will continue to watch with the family (who also thought it a bit 'flat') to see if it improves.

They have to film in Prague these days because of the blue meth.

Techno

I enjoyed it.....Mrs T thought it was a bit boring.  :o
Cheers - Phil.

It was okay if a little shallow.

I will watch the rest, if only for painting / modelling inspiration :)

At least it was aimed (I think) at adults rather than Merlin and Atlantis which are for teens.

I was amused that everyone seemed able to fire a gun without a care about the weather! Also the m,ock execution bit - surely there would have been a flash even if the piece hadn't gone off?

Interested enough to watch episode 2, but that Constance ain't no Raquel Welch.

Yeah...wasn't quite enough of either was it?

Wasn't a Merlin nor a Thrones.

BBC could have been a little braver; given it a nastier edge ;)

That's what I thought as he put the powder etc in but not the 'bullet'!

Haven't actually seen it yet but having seen the trailer they seem to have overdosed on leather. And as for the (c)rap on the trailer - go forth and multiply!  >:( >:( >:(
