Polish Deluge

Hi All,

Having got the 'By Fire and Sword' rules, I'm thinking about playing this in 10mm and what figures codes can be used. It seems that most of the ECW/TYW and Polish renaissance ranges can cover the essential troops needed, but just a few queries that others here may be able to help with...

P13 Polish dragoon: Has anyone got a pic of what this looks like ?
P10 Polish musketter in fur hat Any pic ? And could this be used for a dismounted dragoon ? Otherwise, I'm a bit stick on what could be used, as they seem a pretty essential troop type for the period/polish armies.

Also,I was thinking about how the Polish cossack cavalry (P12) could be used for either Volunteer Levy or Cossack Style Cavalry from the Army Lists and the Horse Archer for Wallachian cavlary. What do others think ?

OK so first a 'health' warning. I don't have BF&S and the Poles I have are for a later period. So the help I can give is limited.

I am afraid I don't have a pictures. They have a fur hat with a single feather at the front and a cloak. They are carrying a carbine/musket.

Again no pictures - there are some here but I am not sure if they are these figures - http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,8144.15.html. But I would have guessed that they will be fine - you might want to cut the feather off the mounted version.

Again I don't have any of these but I would guess they would be fine for the Cossack Style Cavalry. As I understand it no one is really sure what the Volunteer Levy (sometimes called Noble Levy) actually looked like. But they were a low quality, conscripted, ad hoc force and so most likely would be a real mix. Personally I would go for a mix of all the light cavalry types and add in a few Pancerni types but really I think you can use anything.

Horse Archer for Wallachian cavlary.

If the is Wallachian style cavalry then yes I think that would be fine - they could have real Wallachian allies.
