Just another thought - I've got some references to Germans carrying colours during the 1914 campaign - anyone know of any other nations who did so?  If so, would a mixed pack of colour-bearers be an idea?

Fenton

I think the British Army only carried them on parade or other formal occasions I am sure the Canadians and ANZAC's would have done something similar
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

I'm sure that the brits/imperial troops didn't carry them.

Not sure if Russians, French or Austrians did.

Don't think anyone di after the first campaigns.

Dr Dave

French and Germans definitely did at the start. British didn't.

Russians may well have carried banners at start of WWI, and certainly carried them in the RCW, so a Russian standard bearer would be a useful figure anyway.

The standard bearer in the Russian command pack, RT4, from the Russo-Turkish War range is very useful
