@Leon,
has anyone approached you with an idea of using your cutting service to produce a road system in 6/10mm with engraved road markings.  If not can I?

Considering as a suggestion 30mm wide sections with solid parallel lines 25mm apart (1") down the verges and a dashed centre line.  Straights are obviously very easy what about curves and junctions etc ?

@anyone else.  Anyone else ?

GordonY

That would be of interest to me as my current game is Dropzone Commander.

Leon

It's been mentioned a couple of times, but we've never got round to doing anything about it.  The easiest option would be just basic shapes to create layouts and build upon, not sure about engraving stuff onto them and how it would look?

Although I can see the attraction for major roads I still prefer rubber roads ( my own homemade brand)  to drape over the terrain for tracks etc

If are going to do it then it would be nice to have them with joints like scaletrix do they join together
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Yeah, jigsaw puzzle joints or similar would sell it to me, providing that doesn't make it too pricey.

Straights, curves and junctions would be a definite advantage.

In terms of engraving I was only considering road edging and centre dash lines though

The problem is dashed lines are pretty modern and Pendraken doesn't have any modern stuf.

I'm with Fenton. I much prefer "floppy" roads that conform to contours. As for fastenings, all you need is a joiner to do you a few dovetail templates,

"Floppy" roads I tend to use for the larger scales. I have never thought about making my own from latex or similar. Now hard is it and what would I need. This then forms the balance of investment decision about what hard terrain might cost me if I asked Leon to cut something special.

Well we made the master ourselves out of wood and milliput...we also had a friend who worked in a plastics factory who did a few vaccum moulds on the side for us,it was then just the painstaking matter of slowly filling each mould with latex, letting it dry and repeating the process
