Good to hear all is well. Here in the North West I was more disturbed by the Cat yowling at 3am than I was by any eatherrelated phenomonon.

You weren't having another bath at that time.....Just so you could scare the cat again, were you fsn ? ;) ;D

Yep - that was a bit of an anticlimax really...it was pretty blowy on Exmoor & pretty wet, but quite disappointing really.

Did have a couple of drinks & did some painting though  ;)

Had to drive all around the houses this morning just to get the other half to a functioning tube-line so that she could get in to work. Some fairly frequent falls of timber around here. Railways used it as an excuse to stay in bed.

For Pete's sake, Nik, what are you doing all the way up there? There are pretty houses and there are comfortable houses but there are precious few comfortable pretty houses. If it's more than a ten minute walk to the nearest pub pull up the drawbridge - you're in the barbarian zone.

OK, now we've lowered the tone ..

Why does Mr Elephant have four feet?

Six inches wouldn't be much use to Mrs Elephant!

I think you underestimate him.

Don't think a pizza would last that long.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Afternoon, chaps  :)

I've (finally) managed to establish a decent i'net connection here, so I'll try to catch up with all the forum shenanigans that I've missed in the last couple of months  :(

We're still in our (lovely holiday) home while work progresses (tortuously slowly) on the farmhouse - it's getting there, but the more we knock about, the more we find needs doing...it'll be great once we're done though  :)

Hope you all had a great festive period & are making progress on your 2014 to-do lists; I've only managed to paint a platoon each of 28mm WW2 Panzer Grenadiers & US Airborne, but am starting to plan this year's 10mm madness. Got to go do more work on the house this PM, but hopefully will catch up a few posts later - especially my favourite one...which I see has been taken in a different, larger, direction.... :-\ ;)

In other news, I'm also about to finish my current employment at the end of this month and am moving on to my next adventure - will keep you posted on that as well  8)
