First off, we have a Chieftain tank up for auction: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-22915771, estimated to go for about £40k.

Or for those with a cool £20m stashed away, how about a former WWII command centre, located on the London Underground: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/brompton-road-tube-station-up-for-sale-churchill-wwii-111307940.html#ZHv3rBC

If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Na - stick to me Stilo, MPG on a 55 is enormous, and it wont fit the pumps.

On licencing - the MG's are prohibited but main armament is no covered at all - it's assumed that 120mm FS is not easily available on the civilian market.

Back in 'the day' the price quoted for a Chieftain (if you lost one) was about £250,000...we did in fact lose one but someone found it'd been hidden behind the REME hanger.

I expect most of the interesting stuff has been removed. I noticed on an early episode of 'The Walking Dead' one of the 'heroes' was crawling about inside a Chieftain (it was doing duty as an M1) and I noticed all the bag charge bins had been removed...it was also cleaner than any Chieftain I've ever seen.

MPG is pretty grim, about four miles to the gallon. We also used to say that if it didn't leak it must be empty...funny my big brother used to say that about Lightnings. On one exercise we found we were doing four miles to the gallon on diesel but only about one mile to the gallon on coolant! We left a big cloud of white smoke wherever we went.

On the plus side there wasn't much wrong with the gun kit. Firing APDS at about a mile a second you could hit anything out to about two thousand yards without having to think about it...'Sabot is a drill not a skill' as my Troop Sergeant used to say. Hitting something with Hesh was a little more involved but not by much.

Did Russia tremble?

You bet she did...those were the days.

Technically you could have the MG converted to fire single shot - but you would have to supply a suitable reason for oning it and shoot it three or more time a year.

On the main gun you could have the rifling bored out and have it on a shotgun licence.  THe Sealed not used to have all thier cannon on shotgun licences

I dont know of any firing range open to the public where you could park it to do your shooting though.
