St Peter wants a day off, so God says, 'No problem, I'll get the boy to act as doorman.'

So Jesus is standing there by the Pearly Gates, when a little old man shuffles up.

Jesus pulls out the check list Peter has left.  "Ok, what did you do?"

"I was a carpenter," says the old man.  That perks up Jesus' ears, being trained as a carpenter as a lad.

"Did you have any children?"

"Well," says the old man, "I did have a very special son.  He wasn't really a son, in a biological sense, but he was very special."

Jesus become seriously interested "Why was he special?"

"Well he was brought to life through supernatural powers."

"Was he well known."

"Oh yes.  People told stories about the things he done, and wrote books about him, and made movies, and he was famous the world over.  The children were told these stories to show them how to be good boys and girls."

Jesus has a tear in his eye.  He throws his arms wide open and shouts "Father!"

The old man hugs him back and cries "Pinocchio!"
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

"The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little."

When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.
