In a break from painting, I made myself a brew and with Andy Murray at Queens in the background I sat down to enjoy this.
Great set up and report.
Without going into ALL the bits I like I'll just add that I like the opening assumption that the BEF didn't get out of Dunkirk and that sets the scene.
Inspiring stuff. I'm off to my dedicated wargaming room to set up a game.  ;)
Sadly no longer with us - RIP (2018)

Glad you liked it Albie but rather underhand on the dedicated room front ;) :D.

Yep, they are the printed paper planes Peter. For the amount of time on table they do the business.

Fab report Steve ;)

Read your Post Match Analysis and Lack of gaming time analogy with great interest. I'm having exactly the same issue - too little time, no dedicated room, and the effort to set up a game at home can be herculean sometimes, which when there are warmish summer evenings and a couple of clod ones in the fridge to contend with make the dcision even harder!

In answer to your conundrum:

So all I really need to do to overcome the issues outlined above is to get myself a dedicated games room. Now how do I broach the subject with SWMBO ...?

Answer: Convince her that you could spend even more time helping her with household stuff if only you didn't have to waste so much time setting up your games and that what would release more time is having an extension built that could be a dedicated wargames room...
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Great layout and figures, looked like a real fun game I enjoyed the report , not had the chance to game for an age now. And a good idea with the planes. Thanks for posting it ;)
All the best
