Hi,

Decided to have a break from painitng, and didnt want to lose a whole day working on the French walled town today (thats going to be Thursday/ Friday with any luck  :D ) so I decided to try my hand at making a covered wagon battering ram to represent my Engineer units in my Hundred Years War English Army.

Looks much better in the flesh....looks a bit dumpy here!

Anyway, more details of what, why and how are on my blog, http://wargames.blog.co.uk/2013/05/27/project-10mm-hundred-years-war-french-english-armies-part-16061497/

Grond was the battering ram used by the orcs to break the main gate of Minas Tirith.

No, the explosive device in the storm culvert was what the orcs used to bring down the wall at Helms Deep.

In the film, Grond had a ridiculous fire-basket at its nose, which would have crumpled like tissue paper at first impact.
