Size of "new" ACW artillery

Hi,

The guns in the "old" ACW line were too big to match up well with my smaller GHQ crew and guns, but I'm hoping the new guns are a bit smaller, as the figures are. Can anyone give me a rough impression of how they scale against the old line, or even better against GHQ or Starfort guns? Am I right in thinking that the carriages and wheels are all the same, so if I order a pack of Whitworth's I can get a general idea of the rest?

Cheers,

Christopher

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the new guns are larger.

Well, thanks for the news anyway Bryan. I'm trying to convert as many of my new purchases as I can over to the new line, but it looks like the guns probably won't work. Too bad, as they look like nice models.

Although ... my real problem is that I was hooked into GHQ models by a (since vanished) partner in my ACW project, and I hate their prices and packaging - you get 12 crew for 2 guns, and can't purchase the guns separately (or at least it was something outrageous like 4USD per gun). As crazy as it sounds, it might actually make more sense to sell them off and start my artillery fresh.

Back to pondering!

As Bryan says, they are unfortunately larger, although much better quality in both sculpting and casting.
