Looking to bulk out my SCW armies and start a long thought of early WW2 German force, but just I just use up some odd samurai (bit of free time at present)

Elegant, but I understand that particular mon should appear only on the lord's own banner. You can see it in Hikone castle next time you're there.

Indeed, but just done to make tabletop use easier; I already have Mori, Amago and Ouchi armies painted up and while I wanted more accuracy, it just becomes to confusing (at least to this aging noggin :D)

OK, anyone want to hazard a guess as to what the pictograms under my first post actually say? My guess is "change here for Osaka".

(Never be ashamed to admit to ignorance - it's the only way to learn)  :D

A Chinese friend once did a banner for me to use with a 15mm Ming army, deriding my main opponent. Since I can't read Chinese, and since she had a wicked sense of humour, I have to trust that the army wasn't marching under a flag ridiculing ME.

At least you can just paint over a dodgy banner. What's worse is when I occasionally go back to Blighty and see some of the Chinese character tattoos adorning chaps' arms; wrong way round, or just amusing/offensive meanings I'm sure the owner could never possibly have asked for. Not sure if the tattooists responsible are muppets or enjoying a jolly good titter once the punters leave the shop.
