Nothing spectacular I am afraid. I have moved from the sort of painter who worried about getting the right shade of blue for Union infantry trousers and using three layers of paint to the sort who just wants to get as many figures as possible on the table as quickly as possible.

Having said that and seen what can be done by some of the members on here I have a hankering to spend some time on one or two special pieces. More of that later. These are 1st New Hampshire, or part of anyway. They will get two more stands in due course. The base is yet to be finished too. They are on 20mm MDF square bases I bought from some long forgotten company at a show long ago. They are decidedly rough compared to the laser cut bases you get now, but again this was a test in whether I could actually paint these figures. The sculpting is better than many 15mm companies and some 25mm companies. I am looking forward to working on these alongside a couple of other projects.

More soon!  :D

PS

I am slightly embarssed now having seen thepicture in the post. X_X

Still, they are up for the world to see and as someone once said, to get better at painting, paint 1000 figures. Your 1001st should look ok!

I think my artistic ability, use of colour theory and brushmanship has stunned the audience into silence  :-[

These look fine WP - my suggestion would be to give them a wash & a fast re-highlight to make the details 'pop'...

Either a 'Magic' wash [info here, scroll down a bit: http://nikharwood.pbworks.com/w/page/7825490/Standard%20technique ] or a [diluted] 'dip' [don't get that expensive Army Painter stuff, get woodstain from the hardware place at a tiny fraction of the cost...less is, most definitely more...]

Hope this helps - if you want more suggestions etc, just shout  :)

Looks good to me!

The thing is, with these models you must imagine what they look like in hordes! And they would definately shine!

Looking good to me, certainly better than I can do!  The pic's a bit grainy though, so it's hard to see properly.

Perfectly acceptable by my standards, which run along the lines of "ermm we're playing AWI, so those infantry over there in red jackets must be British, kill them!" Theyre at least as good as my AWI figures, but then with a backlog of about 5000 10mm to paint, my little fellas get almost no love whatsoever expended on them.
