Well last night I was kept awake (as were many of our neighbours) by some young adults having a party and singing at the top of their voices for over 3 hours long. No pretence at social distancing or anything. For one moment I thought one of the neighbours was going to get physical, given the lanuage being used when asking them to be quiet, which they refused to do. Given there is a terminally ill lady* a few doors down, plus families with young children, you would have thought they could have been more thoughtful, but maybe I'm being naive?

So I'm a tired and grumpy bugger this morning whose eyes hurt from lack of sleep! I think I got about 5 hours in...

*She ended up being taken away in an ambulance during the party :(.

Don't blame you.
Can you and your neighbours arrange for your own party when those selfish oiks are trying to catch up on their sleep......Or are they not locals ?

Sympathies, Steve.

Bet you did, Nobby.

I confirmed to myself recently that my interest in 'footy' really HAS diminished.....I was going "Oh not bloody football on the TV again."
I know there are lots of other channels to watch, but being a sad git, I like watching the old Star Trek with cap'n  :ar! Picard, and that kept getting kicked off (pun intended) to make way for the soccer.

(I'll still probably end up watching the Cup Final....hypocrite that I am.)

Cheers - Phil

My sympathies are entirely with the criminal in those cases where someone "Goes postal", as our American friends put it, and silences a party with a shotgun. Heck, I think that person is a public benefactor (-trix).

Yes alas I've had to go elsewhere for bronze age stuff. You've not mentioned much other ancients or medieval in your list, plenty of good options there. Those 400 Byzantines and Arabs sound like a good seed for the Arab Conquest, the Crusades, the Reconquista, Italo-Normans in Sicily...

Greece, Carthage and Rome have plenty of fun enemies to keep you busy, Persians, Celts, Iberians, Dacians...

Renaissance? Italian wars, Ottomans, Mughals.

Eighty and Thirty Years Wars?

WW2 Burma? Spanish Civil War? Russian Civil War? Russo-Japanese War?

Have you considered the Aztecs?

Norman in Sicily is one of my projects. I've finished the Normans, but need to finish the Arabs. The Byzantines are a project in being. I may contemplate a Lombard army. Already have Saxons and Norse ... just so I can burn Rome.

I'm doing Sicily again ... Greeks, Carthaginians and Republicans (image of Trump storming Palermo). I think I'm pretty done with irregular armies ... though I may be tempted by Pontus.

Burma nterests me ... but I need to find a good compromise between the aesthetic and playability of the terrain. All those trees! Same reason I don't do Viet Nam.
Civil Wars ... again, never really caught my interest ... though the Russo-Polish war is an outside possibility.
Russo-Japanese War - YES! I may even have to go into some pre-Dreadnaught fleet action.

Ooh look forward to seeing those. Italo Normans and Byzantines are on my long term expansion list from crusades (likely when the TB line Islamics come out...)

I'd likely just go with a load of large clumps as trees, but the visuals on that are borderline at 10mm.

Yeah potentially some interesting actions there, and the naval aspects are tempting.

Which camels are you using? From one of the later ranges, as don't think there's any in the Arab range?

Camels are a gap in my Islamics though think there'll be some with the TB line ones when they arrive.

There are some nice Arab cavalry in the Persian range as well for variety. Largest gap in the range is horse archer diversity, though can get some stand ins elsewhere and again think TB Islamics will cover that.

Lord Kermit of Birkenhead

Ah yes - madist ones I think, built the Arabs about 5 years ago, sorry Martin  X_X

I'm joining that club today. @-) @-)

2:30 this morning woken by Von with the news we had a power cut. =)
Come downstairs, check if any of the 'trips' had gone.....No, so it's not us (oh yes it was, but not the house)......Phone up Western Power distribution.....Automated replies which gave the news that "Yes, we are aware of a problem in your area."

Good.....Go back to bed, try and go back to sleep...fail....About 3, Von goes to window and peers out....."I'm sure I just heard someone walking up the drive"......5 minutes later, sound of two people talking.....Von calls out of the window "Hello...is there a problem ?"

It was Western power. They'd traced the fault to a transformer about 30 yards away from the back door.

2 vans and a lorry wend their way up the drive.....Try to sleep.....Fail.....Finally gave up at 4:30 and got up. X_X

I reckon I got about 3 hours sleep......Feel like a zombie. But at least the fault was cleared and we now have a spanking new transformer.

Cheers - What day is it ?......What's my name ?  8-}
