It looked like a cross between Roland Rat and a Skeksi, earlier

Sounds like all your stuff. Duck Knights, and heavily armed Wombles.

I am currently discussing WW2 tank doctrine with Al Murray (yes THAT Al Murray) on Twitter!
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

It was am digression worthy of here; it was on a tweet by Prof Brian Cox about not being able to identify an insect after drinking wine. I was at a disadvantage, as I'd been drinking gin with Sunjester.

All Hail the ale.

He does a fairly funny (partly in character) - Top 5 tanks for the Tank Museum on youtube.

Pendraken have finally released a beautiful range of Korean War figures. I have a whole squadron of Centurions which have been waiting for years and now their time has come.

What have I been painting?

Extras from an episode of Daktari ...  (yes, that is a 2 1/2 ton truck in the background)

The Monarch of the Glen and his family ...

... and figures for a grand skirmish for the Spanish-American War ... because I wanted some colour.

Now you're asking.

BW39 Naval Brigade and SCW18/19 Andaluz Milita for Yanks and Spanish respectively.

Confederate artillery for both.

As for rule set, that's be FSN's Spanish-American War Rule Set - v1.

Yet to be finished written started.

Probably something akin to FSN's American Civil War Rule Set.

Still scared of the giraffes.

Thought I will say the hippos are fun, the lions appropriately alert and the crocodiles ... crocodilian.

Can't decide if the rhino is grazing peacefully, or getting ready to charge.  :-\

Maybe two of them are. The third has a terrible glint in his eye.

Gentlemen.

I've booked myself two weeks of leave, and since the weekend I have been de-cluttering and reorganising. That's just the books! Still, I now have some free spaces on the bookcases!

Being a rational and practical type, my books are organised in by historical period.  They're all on Billy bookcases, 80cm wide, and I think the analysis shows where my interests lie. The number of shelves devoted to each subject are:

1  Japan & India
2  Egypt, Greece, Rome
1  Byzantines, Saxons, Normans & Vikings
1  Scottish Wars, 100 Years War, War of the Roses
1  English Civil War, War of the Spanish Succession, Seven Years War
6  Napoleon
1  American Civil War, Spanish-American War, WWI
6  WWII
2  Korea, Viet Nam, Falklands, Gulf
1  Wargaming and modelling
2  General history

Despite what I have written elsewhere about magazines, I also have 4 shelves of magazines (mainly Military Illustrated, Ancient Warfare, Medieval Warfare), plus Art & photography 5, Religion and philosophy 1, Poetry 1, General reference 1, Business & technical 1. I'm down to 3 shelves of fiction, plus 5 DC & 2000AD Comics (not Marvel).

All the space is unnerving. I may have to buy some more books.  :(

There are also some very odd books in the local charity shops.  ;D ;D
