See you on Friday.

Playing Doctors and Nurses at the hospital, tomorrow, for a 'pre-op' check up.  X_X

Cheers - Phil

I hope the doctors are competent, the nurses attractive, and the needles sharp

Good Luck

Completely random thought.

Could you mount a shotgun on a WWII bomber as close defence?

I don't mean you ordinary 12 bore, but something more like a Petard mortar. Fairly close range, but would keep fighters out to a distance, which is after all the point of a bomber's defence.

Yes I know it sounds crazy, but have you looked at some oif the things they tried?

Here is a variation on that theme, Although not air defense.

What about 12lb Napoleons firing case shot?

Mounted perpendicular to forward motion it might cause a bit of yaw, however

Encumbered by Idjits, we pressed on

Surely a machine gun is a better choice? As it fires a steam of bullets it helps you hit the target by being able to walk the aim onto the target.

A shotgun is just a single shot, even if it covers a big area.

The Germans did have upward firing rockets on some of their night fighters - it was a bit like a big shotgun.

True, but with the shotgun you don't really need to be spot on. Close is good enough.

Dr Dave

But the ammunition wouldn't have enough KE to,do much damage beyond peppering. Plus you have to contend with e ammo storage and the recoil. Nowadays much to have an asraam that looks for a plane and chases it! Much better range performance than any gun in air to air use.

fsn

*sigh*  Crosses "shotguns on a plane" off list of things to make me rich.

Maybe this would've worked?

Though it does look more like an Aeronef, to be honest  :)
Rimmer: "Aliens."

Lister: "Oh God, aliens... Your explanation for anything slightly peculiar is aliens, isn't it?

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

A cheap taxi service will be useful after I've had the 'op', Ian.....("You won't be allowed to drive for around 4 weeks.")........Can't see why. It's not exactly going to be  very invasive.
Bloody sore, for a while, probably !

Gotta wait for the results of the tests, which I should hear about in the next couple of days.
Don't really know if I want to get it over and done quickly, or keep having it delayed for a few months.

Thanks for the good wishes.

Cheers - Phil
