I moved last year, and have been meaning to update my Electoral Register info.

Today is the deadline, so I went on the website at work during lunchtime.

Government sites are moving to a common platform.

I am a civil servant, so I use that platform.

They have autofill - if you apply for a passport, the computer will remember that info if you start typing for a driving licence, for instance.

It auto filled my first and last name, because I put my first and last name into the computer at worked.

It then asked if my middle name was 'Canterbury Crown Court'...
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

  • Is your middle name Canterbury Crown Court?
  • Have you ever lived in Canterbury Crown Court?
  • Have you ever worked in Canterbury Crown Court?
  • Have you ever been in Canterbury Crown Court?
  • Have you ever put Canterbury Crown Court in another online form? If no, where do you think this instance of Canterbury Crown Court could have come from?
  • Do you think that if you change your middle name from Canterbury Crown Court somebody elsewhere will be recorded of being convicted at "Derek" (or "Brian", or "Zebedee")?
  • If the box for your middle name is big enought to enter Canterbury Crown Court, then what middle names do people have that require at least 21 characters? That's more than racehorses get for their entire name.
  • Is there some sort of facial recogniotion problem? Do you look like Canterbury Crown Court? Even if you squint a bit?

To be fair , that last was a long shot.

1 (one), and exactly 1 (one) of those guesses is correct.

Normally, I'm quite good at planning purchases. I do the research, find an OOB to model on, then work out how many and which lines to get and how many of each and (roughly) how many months it will take to buy everything. Regrettably, this has not be the case with the recent SF ranges.

Sensible Me  Real Me
Oh I see Pendraken are doing some SF ranges  Oh I see Pendraken are doing some SF ranges
Still, I have started on the Russo-Japanese War  Where's that Traveller: Mercenary rule set?
The next order will basically be Russian infantry  First two ranges ordered!
So Russian Infantry, definitely Summer uniforms  Next two ranges ordered!
What are you doing?  Hmm. All my SF have grey bases. Better order a grey cloth
But the Russians?  Need some scenery. Better get some fish tank foliage
:o   Oooh! Pretty. better get some more.
What are you doing?   I think I need some buildings. Wonder if that 6mm Red Vectors stuff will do?
Shouldn't you finish those Royalists?   Love that monorail and those buildings  :x
Or the Ottoman Napoleonics?   Better get some more
Or the Marlburians?   I like that Salmon Rose colour ... must give that a try
Please stop   Ooh! Ranges 5 and 6!
Oh by Milady's dimpled knees!  Ordered!
I give up!  You know. Some 1950s aircraft would make great SF additions
Will they have aircraft then?   Ordered!
You don't have AA vehicles.   I don't have any AA vehicles
Please don't!  Ordered!
Are you done now?  Do you think with AA vehicles, one aircraft per sde will be enough?
For the love of mercy, please stop!  Better get some more. Just to be sure
:'(  :'(  :'(   I wonder when the next SF ranges will be out?  :D

I'd say this current method more closely approximates to my usual approach to new projects ..... and my Gangs of Rome agree with me on that :)

I'm currently (metaphorically) sitting on my hands to stop myself buying c. £100 of MDF Roman buildings.

Thought based on something I have seen online.

In the Hobbit, Gandalf gives Bilbo a mithril mail shirt. He tells Bilbo it was made for an elven prince.

Bilbo gives this mailshirt to Frodo.

The mail shirt is small, it fits a Hobbit, not a full grown elf.

The only elven prince born in the 4 Elven kingdoms of Middle Earth is Legolas.

Frodo is wearing Legolas's baby clothes...

It would explain why Legolas doesn't speak to Frodo, he's freaked by Frodo wearing his baby clothes.

Smaug was already centuries old before he came to Erebore and killed the dwarves and took up residence in the lonely mountain. So this princlings mail shirt may well have belonged to someone other than Legolas, but i do like your thinking
