Finally made a start on my ACW Confederates, here is the first unit.

I have four painted so far, none based as I am away overseas working and did not bring my basing materials with me......

Comments welcome

Unit No.2

As with the previous one they are painted and ready to base and matt varnish spray.

The black line you see is the size of the unit's foot print, 90mm frontage.  They will be on 3 30x30mm bases

Sorry about the pic quality poor light and taken on an IPhone

Thanks General,

I love your blog a great inspiration!

I'll be looking at doing between 50-60 bases of infantry, 10 guns and a few units of cavalry.  May take me a little while with all the projects I have on the go but it should be good!

What rules do you use, I will probably use Black Powder, with ACW house rules.

I use my own custom rules. However, I have just discovered the rules "A Union So Divided" from the Look Sarge No Charts series. They are intended for fighting larger battles. A standard regiment of between 250 and 500 men is 3" wide. The ground scale is 1"=50yds, so they work perfectly with Johnny Reb scenarios. After reading through the rules a couple of times, I'm pretty confident that with a few minor modifications they will be great.
