Are the Saxons to be re-modelled?

Chad

Leon

No plans for it at the moment.  We'll look at it in the future, but we've got a few projects to get finished first.

Now you have introduced the 1859 Grenadier are the Austrian Line in Kittel to be remodelled?

Chad

Leon

The Line in kittel are going to be done, but probably not until the end of the year I'm afraid.

Thanks, Leon.

Plenty of time to paint the French Grenadiers then.

Re Austrians in Kittle: from all my research into the Austrian Army of this period the Kittle was not worn on active service. In the field, both in Italy and Bohemia the infantry just worn the greatcoat with a shirt underneath. Instead of revamping the Kittle why not give the infantry in greatcoat another pose?

Chad

Martyn

My information says the opposite. In 1859 they wore the Kittel, but the overcoat in 1866. The German Staff history of 1866 also notes 'white coats' at Podol.

Are there any plans to add Firing figures to the line infantry to represent skirmish/firing lines?

Apologies. Since my question about the Kittel was related to new 1859 French Grenadier, I was therefore querying Austrians in Kittel for 1859. I did not fully read your comment until I had posted. I agree on the 1866 campaign, although as I noted there are references to white coats at Podol.

Just a possibility that the Austrians that had been observed had had discarded their greatcoats and were fighting in their shirts?

Chad

Martyn

My thoughts exactly.

It would be nice to see another pose for the Austrians in Greatcoat, possibly shouldered musket? Having just one pose is boring when you want to do an army. The Jagers are great! Two poses plus officer.
Or be bold Austrians in shirt sleeves!

Leon

It would be quite easy to add an extra pose in greatcoat at the same time as we re-do the kittel.

If you could do that it would really make my day! I'm easily pleased ;D

Were the Zouaves/Turcos from the French range ever remodelled? Mine (admittedly fairly elderly figures) are very spindly compared to the stalwart line. :(
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Just this one.

A lot of emphasis is placed on whether the ranges are 'resculpts' or not, but the other ranges are still very nice figures and shouldn't be discounted just because they're a bit older than the rest.
