Well okay, Durham, but the Void is close enough...

Hello there, I'm Dim, or Ant, and I'm following my mate Vulpine onto the forum.  I think he's mentioned me a few times, so I figured I'd join up.  I'm rather new to 10mm, but its virtues are becoming rather clear, and presents a new challenge I haven't had since I toyed with Epic.  I play a fair amount of games, but I'm mostly from the 25-28mm fantasy gaming world, playing a lot of those GW games.  My relationship with GW can probably be summed up either as massively love/hate, or masochistic, depending on who you ask.

But first and formost, I'm a fanatical miniatures collector.  I've spent the recent months of my gaming life finishing off my Necromunda collection and getting more Void miniatures.  I like miniatures that are quirky, interesting, and/or beautiful.  The miniatures I am most proud of are likely my Rackham Confrontation metals, particularly my Griffin and Wulfen minis.  Myself and Vulpine found Pendraken not too long ago, and we got a nice tour from Leon (which Vulpine has already mentioned) and among other things, I picked up some of the Dungeon nasties, which I plan to use as creatures for Necromunda.

I'm more of a rules person and fluff writer than gamer though (the writer bit is why I'm drifting away from GW).  I enjoy gaming somewhat, but if I don't have an intellectual problem to solve I tend to get bored of it very quickly.  I like making gaming systems, and I also write for other gaming systems.  My last finished project was a Rebel Grot Codex (for 40k) for an Ork forum I frequent.

I wanted to join in only when I had something to show for myself, but as I'm getting back into the swing of all things hobby (although my writing schedule is fuller than a photo booth in a beauty convention), I'm hoping to get more done.  I'll probably spend most of my time disagreeing with Vulpine, to be honest. Vulpine and I have a few ideas for 10mm games, and that's probably where our energies will be spent.

I look forward to chatting with you all.

I'm very much a fan of 25mm and skirmishes (which 25mm are perfect for), but I am warming to 10mm, for how much more sense it makes by giving you more options within a budget, so I think I'll probably write a few gaming systems for it, probably sci-fi related.  In Vulpine's Necro thread, the idea of a gang battle system in 10mm got me thinking, so I've been playing around with a simple system for a 10mm Gang Battle game.  I'll let everyone know how I get on.  No so bothered about Historical, unless I end up in a group playing them, I certainly wouldn't seek them out.  The only one I play is Vulpine's Zulu game.  I do like it, but I much prefer fictional settings.  Speaking of which, I would be interest to know if you folks play any 10mm C'Thulu games, as Pendraken does have some nice C'thulu minis.  I doubt Vulpine would be interested, but as a HP Lovecraft fan, I'd be interested.
