That's another great set of detailed descriptions! Thank you.
I use productsforwargames barbed wire which has got a finer wire spiraling round the main wire, which looks brilliant at 15mm but is a little too big for 10mm

Nice job, Bob.

The problem with all barbed wire modelling is finding a wire that's fine enough not to look like steel hawser but strong enough to withstand the knocks and scrapes of wargaming. You seem to have found the happy medium.  :-bd

Probably a completely daft idea !
But.....Could a finer wire be wrapped around a thinnish, transparent plastic rod (if such an item exists) ?
I assume the rod could be warmed and bent slightly to give the look of something slightly irregular, rather than completely straight lines of wire.
Would save the worry of the wire being crushed if it's got a support inside it.
Might that work ?

Like I say, probably a silly idea, but I thought I'd just throw that one in.

Cheers - Phil.

Actually, Phil, it doesn't matter if it gets crushed, the real stuff did over time. It's when it starts breaking that the problem begins.

Hmmm.
Just basically metal fatigue ?? (Bend, bend, reshape, bend, snap ??)
