About time these two got into a fight...to be fought using WMA & WMMA; battlelines are drawn:

Hoping to get this one fought tomorrow...

Weirdo  ;) :P ;D :d

Cool Nik !!   I am building a Teutonic Ka Nigits army also. Looking forward to seeing this one played out, how are you mixing the WMA and WMMA, duh never mind. WMA rules and armies build using WMMA right  :P

"am building a Saracen army at the moment, but in 20mm!"

Does that mean the army is twice the size.... :-[

wow that is long expected batreport for me... since you started with your araby army. Too much questions around my head...

Which armylist are you using? Jerusalem and salahadim?

are you using WMM reaction charges or did you choose to use skirmishers rules?

How many points?

Did they are near Karnak?

What will be the consecuences of a chrisitan victory?

How many beers will you consume during the battle?

What is the animal faster of the world?

Did I turned off the oven before going to work today?

as you see ... to much questions around my head

Yep  :)

Yes - and no idea...I'll add them up later  ;)

QuoteDid they are near Karnak?

Miles away...consequences of a Christian victory: much quaffing and back-slapping I suspect  :D

QuoteHow many beers will you consume during the battle?

Now that is a good question - how many would you recommend?

Me - on a cheetah...base-jumping  :d

QuoteDid I turned off the oven before going to work today?

You'll find out when you get home - or to that charred, smouldering pit where your home used to be  :o

Quoteas you see ... to much questions around my head

And hopefully enough answers in mine  ;D

Thanks for the detail answers, looking forward to see your pendraken figures in action!

Let me notice, that in WMM if you choose reaction countercharges then skirmishers rules from WMA are disalowed. I am sure you know that, but is a very forgotten rule and I like to highlight for the people who could read this!

Happy battle then!

Anyone know where I could get a copy of the WMM rules and army lists?

nikharwood

Cool - a useful reminder  :)

Points-wise, these are about 1000 each: I make the Crusaders 995 & Salah-ah-Din's mob about 1010

On the basis that you didn't recommend a number of beers for this battle, I'm going to make a command roll for another beer as soon as I finish one...I'm going to start with CV10  ;)

And if you command blunder??

I recommend you punish yourself with a single malt ;) If you get a command bonus make it a double :)

I definitely blundered tonight - ended up not being able to scoot out to the garage...so painted some stuff instead - and then started the drinking game...currently passed 4 CV rolls  :D

Right - found time for Phase 1 today - with help from Isaac (aged 5) who took Salah-ah-Din's command; he won the roll for first turn and immediately advanced his cavalry on both flanks:

The main body of the army stayed put though - their commander didn't seem particularly worried, it must be said:

In response, I got the Sergeants moving on my left flank to within striking range of the Turkish horse archers; Isaac reacted and the forces engaged - two swift rounds of combat and the Crusaders had the best of it:

End of the first turn looked like this:

On the left flank, some careful tactics from Isaac (did I mention that he's 5?) brought the cavalry first to the crest of the hill in order to shoot with this archers and then, selecting targets carefully, brought them charging into the Crusader lines:

This got quite bloody, quickly...with casualties on both sides - ended up looking like this - Isaac (5yr tactician) not wanting to withdraw his cavalry to be within the charge arc of the knights...

On the right flank, battle was joined again - with a fairly decisive result in favour of the Crusaders who fell back to consolidate on the hill:

In the centre, Salah-ah-Din finally got his infantry moving, the left brigade moving up past the rocky outcrop...phase 2 to follow...

He didn't want to play any more this evening - wanted to bounce on the trampoline instead...I'll see if I can convince him to chuck dice again in the morning!
