Just thought Id share another group of Confederates ive done in the last week or so.  Mostly Pendraken, but there are a few Blaze Away in here as well (hope thats ok?!?).

These are based for 'Piquet: Field Of Battle'.

Ive ordered a small lot of the 'new' ACW figures and I intend to make them into Hoods Texans and some of JEB Stuarts cav.

I am a bit obsessed with flags.
The way they fold...

If you look at these pictures, there's almost always some kind of diagonal fold across a flag.

You could use fine pliers to add more folds...

Excellent painting! Flag folds can be tricky - I find folding before the glue dries, and being quite severe with the folding, works best as the flag inevitably springs out slightly while the glue is drying.

Hi there
Very nicely painted figures.  But I do agree with Barbarian, that flags look much better for being folded and a little bit of battle damage added.

Take care

I like 'em lots ! :-bd
And where did you get the graduated paper from JDL.?
Been looking for some of that for ages.

Thank you all very much!  Yeah, I agree about the flags, but to be honest, I cant do them for sh!t, so I have gone to just doing one little 'wrinkle' across them.  I find that Im either using too much glue or not enough glue and the print comes off and its just a mess....

Hey Phil, is that for me?  The background?

I did that myself.  I created an image through some free piece of editing software I have, and then printed it out on the color printer at work.  I may still have the file if you want me to send it to you?  If I dont, I can create one easily enough...

I always find the flags easier to bend and shape if you paint over them first, I think it ties them in with the unit better as well
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

It certainly was J.

I used to use that as a background for all sorts of stuff, cos it works so well (Oh alright, it does to my eyes  ;))......Used to buy that as a 'Letraset' A1, A2 (?) sheet from office suppliers...But I guess everyone prints their own off nowadays....(Hah !....Probably for years now.)
I've only got an A4 size printer at home....So I'm not sure whether it would work.

Hey !.... But I know I've got I've got a contact now. ;)
Thanks for the offer....May well take you up on that at some stage.  ;)

For what its worth, what you see in my pics is only on an A4 printer.  The bigger stuff (larger units or whatnot) dont really work on it, but I find I do mostly smaller things anyway!

Here is a link and an image - not sure if you will need the actual file to make it work right.
