The big move started on Monday, so I thought I'd grab some pics as we went along!

The first thing we needed was lots of timber, about 420ft of it to be precise!

Then we we had to get started on building the benches, where our superviser had to make sure everything was correct:

Once the worktops went on, it started to look a lot more real:

Dave had been asking about at work, and managed to get hold of a couple of old tables which were going spare.  These will form a central island in the workshop, initially for the resin, and then whatever else we think of!

The other job for Day 1 was getting the office ready, so after a bit of browsing on eBay, we got two desks for £15, plus an offcut of carpet for £30, and hey presto!

(not a bad fitting job by the missus!)

More pics to come as we finish the benches off, and get ready for bringing the machines and moulds down on Wednesday!

If people didn't how would Pendraken know what to make?  ;)

Looking good and pleased the move is going well - so what's the address?

That's looking dangerously close to being a proper business premesis.   :o

Very nice chaps.

When you move you should always take something noteworthy from the old place - to bring the luck with you.  Making a small feature of the coke-wall might be prudent.  Perhaps flatten a single can and mount it as a wall hanging in the loo?

Hope you're going to keep it cleaner than the last digs.   ;)

Looks like the moves progressing well, you're even employing child labour..... ;)

PS : love the curved work benches, I could do with a segment as a painting station.  Where did you get them from?

Techno

Those aren't work benches....That's the posh, curved bar for drinks after work ! :D
Cheers - Phil.

My missus is registered, so she's keeping an eye out for stuff.  We're 7th in line to view a 3-seater sofa!

I'll be announcing the address and things like that once we're all sorted at the end of this week.  Then people are welcome to come visit!

There'll be quite a lot of the old stuff coming with us, so we should have enough to keep some luck!  I'll pop a single can somewhere and glue it down so Dave can't throw it out...  :D

It should be a lot easier to keep clean as well, as there'll be no clutter around the floor.  We'll just have to assign sweeping duty to someone each week!

They were from the college where Dave teaches, they're old lecture theatre benches.  We've got a variety of stools to go with them as well.  They should come in pretty handy, and I might nail a bigger board on top to give more workspace.

More benches today, including the ones for the new casting machine station:

We've also started on the frame for the partition to separate the casting area from the customer/seating area:

And that was it for these first two days.  Tomorrow we'll start the daunting task of getting everything from the garage down to the new place, which is going to involve several van trips and a whole lot of heavy lifting!  So this is it for today!
