Not old enough, but brought up in a household that loved his music :)
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Pehaps we should also mention the Big Bopper and Richie Valens who also died in the same plane-crash.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.
