I am looking at a possible Langensalza project, and wanted to know what I could use for higher Hanoverian command (mounted officers and the like)?

Also, for Prussians, I presume that using Prussians in feldmütze would be a bit more accurate than using figures in picklehaube?

Thanks!

Leon

For Hanoverians you can use the Austrian mounted Officers, AU17.

And you're right on the Prussians, so you'll want PPW5.

For generals use the standard Austrian figures, except that they wore dark blue tunics and black trousers. The cocked hat had a plume of yellow and white feathers.

The Prussians could wear a mix of picklehaube and feldmutze. The helmet was uncomfortable to wear and was often replaced in the field by the fieldcap.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Thanks, to the both of you!  That give me some hope I can do Langensalza a bit more completely now!

Of course, now I have follow-up questions as to what to use for the following:

1.  Dragoons?
2.  Garde-du-Corps
3.  Garde Cuirassier
4.  Foot artillery limbers

Any help/suggestions are again most welcomed!

1.  Dragoons? - Use Prussian Dragoons, PPW1
2.  Garde-du-Corps - Not sure on that one, there's a pic here: http://www.grosser-generalstab.de/tafeln/knoe15/knoe15_24.html, so maybe Austrians, AU8?
3.  Garde Cuirassier - Prussians - PPW2 (http://www.grosser-generalstab.de/tafeln/knoe12/knoe12_37.html)
4.  Foot artillery limbers - Austrians again, AU18.

There's actually a whole load of info on the Knotel site if you need it: http://www.grosser-generalstab.de/tafeln/knoetel.html

Again, thanks!!!

Looks like I will have a few more questions.  I have the Continental Wars Society booklet on Langensalza, and the Garde du Corps in campaign dress looks very Prussian to me.  No breastplate armor, blanket roll, wearing deep blue tunic with dark gray pants.

For the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha unit, looks very Prussian as well, with a soft round cap worn on campaign.  I am guessing that the feldmutze and the landwehr caps are different?

I would apologize for all the questions, but I want to get the correct figures such as they are!
