Hello all!

Just joined the forum in a frenzy of inter-active enthusiasm (I'm usually an anti-social so-and-so).  Currently wargame only the Great War with Pendraken (GWSH rules), although I've been doing it for 6 or 7 years (sucked in to their stand at Colours once) and am minded to diversify in period once I have finished diversifing within '14-'18 in theatre.  I'm a firm believer in 10mm as THE BEST scale.  And Pendraken as the best provider of 10mm figs.  GOLIER!

Hi Mike, welcome to the Forum!  Were you at the Colours show last weekend?

No, sadly I wasn't - it's the first I've missed for an *age* but other domestic matters conspired to prevent me. I usually go with some of my kids (I have seven sons) and so we have lined up Warfare in November instead, although it's a lot more manic and crowded!

Some of the boys are (ahem) Warhammer 40K devotees, although I have managed to get two of them interested in Great War gaming (we are replaying the III Corps (Russian) against the XVII Corps (German) part of the Battle of Gumbinnen (1914) on Wednesday).

Welcome on board Mike :). I'll be at Warfare (Double Six Gamers) but playing in the heretical scale of 15mm. Don't worry though, next years demo tables will be for 10mm only. If you can forgive me my sins, pop over and say hello if you get the chance.

Shall do, Steve.  What period is the game?  I'm fairly catholic in my tastes.  When I was a *very* young man I used to game ECW in 15mm, Seven Years' War likewise, and Wars of the Roses in 25mm.

No worries, you'll have to pop by the stand at Warfare and we'll see if we can tempt them into something!   8)

Normandy, 6th June '44. US Paras dropping around small town to seize bridge (minor objective) and town (major objective) so that US troops can advance from UTAH beach. Hope that is of interest?
