I'm now finally getting around to painting my Ratsburg pike. Pictures will be posted immanently.

Pictures of the shot and some command are already available at an old post on my blog - I posted them on here a while back http://irregularwars.blogspot.com/2010/09/duchess-of-cheddars-own-fusiliers.html.

I wonder if there are any pictures of the mounted troop types (dragoons and troopers) around? I seem to remember someone saying they were mounted on large wolves? I use these guys for 28mm games and I'd love to see 1)what they look like and 2)whether the 10mm wolves would work if painted up as 28mm angry foxes...? :-\

I've not got any pics to hand, I'll try and get some taken for you.  The Rats are mounted on giant wolves, they're actually a one-piece casting.  The wolves themselves come in three different sizes:

FG6 - Warwolves, small (in the Goblin range)
15G7 - Mounted 15mm Goblin, medium, we can supply the wolf separately to the rider.
FG10 - Giant warwolves.

Sometimes I wonder - why is that frisbee geting bigger - and then it hits me!

Leon, that'd be great thank you if you could.

I'm a bit confused though - you say that they are one-piece castings, but that the wolves come in different sizes.  Do you mean to say that the riders are one piece but that the wolves are separate and interchangeable?

I've read that back myself!  The Ratsburg mounted figures are cast onto the wolves, but the wolves they sit on are available elsewhere in the ranges, as separate castings.

Leon, thanks for the explanation - I understand now and I think with a little fancy painting the wolves could be made to look like small (but angry) dogs for my 28mm scale SBH warband (using your 10mm Ratsburg figures). :-\

Another question - what is the difference between the dragoon and trooper figures? I presume the dragoons carry machlocks and wear broad-brim hats - what about the troopers?

My ratsburg pikemen are fully painted up - have been for about two weeks now - but I'm currently overseas. I will post images of them when I return home mid next month.

Cheers,

Nic

Thanks chaps! I just wish someone could shed some light on the equipment of the mounted Ratsburgers - or better yet, some photos.

Pics of my pikeys will be up mid next week.

Thanks Leon - looks to be the same basic sculpt with a musket for the dragoon and a sword for the trooper?

Pretty much, althought I think it may be more like a carbine.

Yep however the sword is more like a pole. It is rounded not flat like a sword. But I paint it up like a sword. I sent Leon a pix or 2 of the dragoon figure I painted. I still cant load pix to this forum yet - low tech brain using high tech gadget makes for a blank screen  :D

Sooo all of those pretty pictures I took of the Pendraken Nappy battle are still in camera   :-[

I've probably got them saved on the work machine somewhere, but if you could pop them through to me again, I'll upload them here.
