Paint Pens

Paint Pens seem to be the thing these days.

This chap seems to have some difficulty with a small nib on a big cloak. Perhaps they would be better with smaller scales - say 10mm?

Anyone tried them? I'm tempted to try a white one for crossbelts.

Last time I tried a paint pen (white) it went on OK but it was lifted when I brush varnished over.

I have a pack of paint pens but have had little experience with them due  to recurring bouts of gout in my fingers resulting in very little painting of any sort getting done.

My limited experience is that they have worked well. I use spray varnish and that hasn't affected the paint (so far!!).

I have some of the Playmarker pens. I have not used them much, but this is what  I have found out

• First time you use them and "prime " the brush, it will drip, so wait until it has done this.
• The brush seems to fill up with too much paint and floods what you are painting - this mihgt just be my unfamiliarity with them.
• They must be stored horizontally.
• THe AK markers nib is quite broad.

I advise you to just purchase a couple and see how you go. Sunjester bought a set of the marker type cheap on Amazon, but again the nibs are quite broad

I used some for painting 6mm 7YW Tricorn hat trims, worked well but as Orcs said you can get a drip or flood haha.
