Hello all
I'm looking for help painting the pendraken 7 years war british artillerymen.
All references i see show them with tricorn and dark blue coats with scarlet cuffs.
The issue is that the pendraken figures seem to be mostly figures in what appears to be just a kind of jerkin and with shirt sleeves and I'm not sure what headgear. What colours should these be painted? Also the driver with the limber appears to be in a loose kind of smock with a broad brimmed floppy hat. Again what colour should this be painted? I cannot find informaton these types of uniform.

Many thanks
Kind regards
Nigel Cox

Can't help with the gunners but the guy with the limber is a civilian so could wear whatever they wanted.

Hi Ithoriel

Many thanks for the reply. I'd guessed it was probably a civilian driver (although I can find no reference to this and all accounts just give the royal artillery blue uniform). It's the gunners that are more confusing sadly.

Many thanks
Kind regards
Nigel Cox.

Hi Nigel

If you have not come across it you might want to try this site out: https://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Main_Page

Generally for the Seven Years war you get a couple of specific artillery men figures for the nation concerned and some generic artillery figures. I tend to paint the generic figures with leather type jerkins with their hair tied back so what ever coulour you want. Shirts white or 'off white'. The drivers that you mention were again generally civilians recruited localy so what ever you fancy really. Hope that helps.

Just thought, the 'jerkin' is probably a waistcoat which if British would be blue.

The Corps of Royal Artillery Drivers was formed in 1793, so well after the SYW.

This is pretty much spot on. The generic figures are in waistcoats, which makes painting simpler. Kronoskaf is the go to place for SYW uniforms. The specific entry on the Royal Artillery is -https://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=British_Royal_Regiment_of_Artillery

The good news is that the yellow lace on the waistcoat was discontinued in 1758.
